Real Life game/fun: Calling for a DisBoard Gamers DisMeet....first week Oct 2013

So I was on the phone with Member Services this afternoon because the window for reservations for the first part of our trip has opened up. I wasn't able to make a reservation for the CA Grill, I guess that they still don't know when it is scheduled to reopen so I'm going to have to stay on top of that one.

I did make us a 5:45PM reservation at Raglan Road for a party of 6 on October 2. I hope that is OK with everyone. We normally eat a little later, but I think I remember everyone else saying that they ate earlier than we do, so we're going with the flow. Also, that might get us out of there before the band starts playing.

:rockband:

:listen:

I couldn't make the HBD F! reservation yet, I have to wait until April 5 since that's during the BCV part of the stay.

PIO, were you going to make the Cape May, Wave and Wishes Cruise reservations?

Great about RR! I've never eaten there, and I get to MCO at 1, so the time should be fine with me!:goodvibes Thank you for booking!

Man I wish I could do all these other things too!!

Only... I like the band at RR

I'm sorry you can't do them as well. I don't mind live music, but when you're dining with friends and want to chat, a loud band makes it tough.

We ate a Cooke's on our last trip and it was fabulous. I'm pretty sure they serve the same fish and chips at both places, but Raglan Road has a few other things that sound great, like most of the appetizers! :thumbsup2

The Irish soda bread with olive oil and Guinness reduction! Mmmmmmmm

Not sure the fish & chips is the same. Or maybe RR is just fresher

Staying up tonight to call.

Hi! My friend got back to me and has to decline coming on the trip. I had sent her a link to your pictures of the Flower show, thinking that would nail the deal, but I think that 4 nights just isn't enough for her if she's going to spend the money on airfare.

Thank you. I will possibly ask my sister, but she has a serious life decision to make and I don't want to throw something into the mix. She is helping a friend through chemo, radiation and all that is involved with a serious illness. She's the sort who would come given a short notice, so when I think it's a good time, I will ask her.::yes::

:thumbsup2 Hope it works out.

Just made ADRs.

Alison - Official calendar is updated for our week there. DHS is definitely closed early on the Wednesday!

My schedule is looking like this:

Mon 30th - MK day. I think I'm going to book us in for breakfast at Crystal Palace. We can then have Counter Service for dinner; possibly Columbia Harbour House.
Booked in for CP. It's later than I like; but still before park opening.

Tue 1st - Epcot day. Lots of grazing at F&W. I am thinking about Via Napoli for lunch; but I suspect we'll have more fun grazing.
Decided on all day Grazing

Wed 2nd - I have no fixed plans for parks. Is this the night we could try for Raglan Road?
I guess Alison got us Raglan Road.
:cool1:

Thu 3rd - DHS day. Cape May Breakfast. I'll book for Bobbi as well? And then I'm guessing we'll do Brown Derby for dinner; followed by Fantasmic!
Table reserved for 8.10 am. My other time option was 8.40; and that was a little too late for me. :headache:

Fri 4th - No fixed plans for parks; we could go to Blizzard Beach on this day. I'll book for the Wishes/MNSSHP cruise for the night. Including Ed, we're up to 7 in the pontoon. I'll assume we'll one the pontoon with music capability.
Table Reserved for The Wave. They had either 5.35 pm or 6.25 pm. I wasn't sure whether we would have enough time to eat with the 6.25 pm booking; so I went with 5.35 pm. Hope this is okay for everyone.

Sat 5th - AK day. I'm going to book in for Yak and Yeti lunch. I did consider a character breakfast; but in the end, given we're already doing CP and CM, I think it was going to be too much. I'd like to see the AK parade; so we can do the cookout after.
Yak and Yeti booked in for lunch.

Sun 6th - Another day of no fixed plans for the parks; we could go to BB. But at night, we're heading to MNSSHP.
I booked in Tony's for an early dinner. We have to eat; and I know my DS will enjoy his parmesan cheese.

I was also tossing up about lunch at Prime Time. But in the end, given that we're looking at Fantasmic! dining package, I figure it would be too much food.

OK for me! Thank you!
Wednesday: RR, perhaps to back to Epcot for the Eat to the Beat Concert depending on the performers.
Thursday:Cape May breakast, time is fine! Then we'll have Fantasmic for dinner!
Friday: Perhaps a water park if PIO and family are going, then Wave and Pontoon boat. Yes, I think having the music is the better option.
Saturday: Cookout and hope to make the last Eat to the Beat Concert for the night. I have a car and will do shopping in the early afternoon.
Sunday, Church, return car, go home!

I do not go to parks for long periods and I really enjoy the "lazy river" area of SAB, so I intend to spend time at the pools, wander into Epcot some. One thing that I like to do on memorable trips with friends is do the character drawing at Animation area of DHS and keep it as a memory of the trip. Is anyone interested in doing that on our DHS day?

Bobbi:goodvibes

Bobbi - I would be interested in drawing at the Animation area.

And if you're interested to go to Animal Kingdom, we were planning that for Saturday in the morning?

We're keeping Friday flexible right now. It depends on whether we want to graze some more at Epcot. I'd rather do F&W before the weekend.
I think our options may be Friday or Sunday for BB. We'll just have to see what the weather is like, what the crowds are like.....

Great! I have a book of my character drawings, and would like to have a drawing from this trip!:thumbsup2

Animal Kingdom is a lot of walking and so, I will see how I feel. On my upcoming trip, I and a friend will be sharing a scooter, but I don't know how successful I will be getting on/off busses with it. With my friend, we are sticking to the boats from BWV, mostly.

I think we will hit the parks early and come back to the BCV to enjoy SAB most afternoons. We can hang out with together. :goodvibes

Wow your plans sound great! So are you only flying in for a week??? Seems like a long flight to only stay a week!
