Yes, when I am teaching again, this will be normal. DH will be home by the weekend, & 2 weeks from today is his first day of retirement!

Retirement! WOW....seems like only yesterday we were talking about your (and your DH) plans.

He's already 68, and we both can hardly believe that!

That's still very young. Plenty of time to visit the World and for the grandkids.

How's your youngest one? Must be almost a year.

Yes, Walter was one year on March 24! He will be joined by a sibling in the beginning of August. His parents do not wish to know the sex of the baby.

We're all pretty good. It's school holidays here (autumn break) so DS is having a great time. Work is keeping me busy and I wish it would slow down.

It is getting colder so we have the heating on.

Do you have a fireplace?

We have two. Both are working fireplaces. We haven't lit a fire in a very long time.

Yes, we also have 2 woodburning fireplaces. We use them as relaxation aides, usually on a weekend when we're in watching TV or a movie.

When we rent cabins in the Great Smoky Mountain NP area, they have gas fireplaces. We enjoy the ambiance associated with fireplaces, the heat is a bonus of course!

Born in Bklyn, raised in Queens, dragged kicking and screaming out to Loooong Island in 6th grade where there were no sidewalks and no smooth streets to roller skate I was a "city kid" with a house key & a skate key on a chain around my neck culture shock ! took me 40 years to get off the Island
