Real Life game/fun: Calling for a DisBoard Gamers DisMeet....first week Oct 2013

Morning Bobbi.

It's 9 pm here and I'm thinking of having an early night. :goodvibes

We're flexible, I'd be happy the later in October, but since PIO is bound by school time, we'll figure it out and make our dates coincide with everyone elses.

Its hard when kids are in school , you have to revolve vacations around that. For us it is perfect, usually sunday flights are cheaper. I am going to book my package real soon. Are there any plans for any ADR's?

Dana mentioned wanting to go to Raglan Road and we thought that was a kind of good idea. Other than that we don't have any plans...

My DVC reservation will be made the end of October this year!

DH wants to go to Hawaii!!! :faint: How the heck am I supposed to build Hawaii in if I wanna go to NY????

Oh no! There isn't an exclusion zone large enough for me and DS and DH if we were to homeschool DS. Besides, he needs the social interaction.

I'm looking at an agenda like this:

Leave Melbourne around the 21st September and arrive in LA on 21st September.
Spend 2 - 3 nights in LA/Anaheim.

LAX to MCO for around the 24th September (Tue) and stay 2 nights at Universal

Transfer to WDW on 26th September (Thursday) and stay 6 or 7 nights at WDW. 6 nights takes me to Tues 1st. 7 nights takes me to Wed 2nd. I'm hoping that this gives me lots of overlap with everyone!

I'm hoping to make it to NYC by 3rd October.
If I then plan to go from NYC to Hawaii and get to Hawaii by the 8th October, I can aim to fly from Honolulu to Melbourne on Thursday 10th or Friday 11th.

I don't know what to say here, because I thought we were aiming for WDW in the 1st week of October, not finishing on the 1st of October. I know your DH has thrown a wrench in things with the whole Hawaii part. The thing is that Fran has a problem with me booking WDW vacations that take us away on the 1st because we can't collect the rents. We don't have anyone responsible who can collect them while we're gone and she wants to get them in the bank so we were thinking of going to WDW on the 2nd or 3rd because September is so hot in FL that we were hoping to delay our FL trip as far into October as possible, but we couldn't meet up that way.

We are certainly flexible and could arrive in time for an earlier meet, but we would definitely cut our plans short compared to if we arrived after the 1st since we would need to get back to collect the checks. On the other hand that would save us points, but would cut back on our meet availbility, since we might have some So Cal possibilities of events, but we won't even know about that until after 2012.

So much is up in the air I can't comment appropriately.

Same here....I don't know if we can take DS out of school for a week yet. I'll have to head back to the bunker with DH. But given that school holidays start 21st September and end on the 6th October, those are the dates I have to play with.

Bobbi - Do you know when exactly the fall break is for next year? I'm trying to see if we can hit WDW a little before fall break so that we can at least have lower crowds for some of the time.

And I'm not sure how Kitty is placed for next year.

Wow, lots of chat here. I'm not teaching, so more flexible, but I thought the first week in October was the week that actually began in September, so different interpretation there, but I can stay!

Kathy hopes to be able to come, Kitty, too!

Fall breaks differ, but F&W is a Huge draw, especially on weekends, so more crowds then.

Bobbi

We're flexible too, and a lot will depend on whether we end up canceling this years trip as well. I have less than two months to make that call. Right now I think it's not looking good.
