i don't understand this whole New York Society thing, i and im SO THANKFUL that i dont. This Kelly Character.... why do people care about her? She thinks she is the Queen of France or something, here whole life is going to boring parties and fashion shows. She is SO important and needed.... gimme a break. I couldn't beleive she wouldn't even help with a charity, her name is to important to associate with any charity. I am SO glad i dont have ANYTHING to do with that weird holier than thou lifestyle... i will stick with Blue Collar working Americans any day of the week....

Who Owns Hotel Chandler? Not Simon van Kempen

Apparently, after Tuesday night's episode of Bravo's "Real Housewives of New York City" aired, some people have been claiming that Alex's hubby Simon van Kempen — whom we know as the General Manager of the Hotel Chandler in NYC — allowed himself to be introduced by someone as the owner of the Chandler. Knowing a thing or two about, um, the vast differences between owning and operating a hotel, we raised an eyebrow...and then we went digging.

Turns out: yeah, no. Simon does not, as we suspected, own the Hotel Chandler. He is the General Manager (and has been for quite some time), but the hotel belongs to a company called Triumph Hospitality (unless, that is, Triumph has not updated its website to reflect their latest portfolio in a long, long time). Triumph, spearheaded by a hotelier named Shimmie Horn, also owns the Iroquois New York, the Washington Jefferson Hotel and the Hotel Belleclaire.

The Chandler opened its doors in 2001 under the name Le Marquis; but in 2004, the hotel changed its name "following the amicable resolution of a dispute with another party."

I watch television with my closed captioning on and in Simon's defense, when the women introduced Simon as the owner of the Hotel Chandler, Simon responded "Don't believe her".....Now he should have said I am the General Manager of the Chandler but he did correct the person doing the introductions without making a big deal out of it. He just didn't completely clarify things.

I am addicted to this show and must say I find the addition of Kelly actually making me like Silex. Kelly is such a tranny mess and what is with the hot pants every where she goes? Honestly, whether it is a ten year old or Brittany Spears prancing around town in them, they aren't appropriate. Never mind walking down the Upper West/East Side of NYC. She just seems so desperate for attention to me.

Now onto Jill, she may have lost weight but I thought she looked bad last night, you could tell she hadn't eaten. She really did look like she was going to faint before the luncheon.

I like Bethenny but I can understand why everyone wouldn't like her. She has very quick wit, which I appreciate, but I can see it getting tiresome to others.

Honestly, Ramona had it coming to her at the fashion show. She didn't say Hello to LuAnn initially either. LuAnn had to ask her if she was going to say Hello.....Very strange to me. Who doesn't at least say Hello?? Ramona did kiss Alex hello but she was trying to completely ignore Simon. Simon was the one who said, "You aren't going to say Hi again?".....Ramona could have easily said hello or hi and gone back to ignoring him. Truthfully, I think they both love the drama of their personality conflict. It makes for good TV.

Now back to Kelly, she was HORRIBLE at Jill's charity meeting! CUTE? Ally having arthritis is CUTE???? I can't believe that women went to Columbia.

Actually, I am not overly impressed with any of their intelligence levels. I believe Alex is probably the brightest of the bunch.

Ok, I'm done for this week.... I really do love this show.

I this Kelly vs. Bethanny thing I say "GO KELLY"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so sick and tired of whiny, want to be Bethanny with her uptight attitude. She acts like she is on uppers all the time, she is strung so tight. Kelly has her own issues (that "cute" comment was ghastly), and she is waaayyyy overtanned - looks quite unhealthy, but she did really try to have a decent conversation with queen Bethanny and the B was so incredibly rude to her. I no longer have a shred of respect for her.
LuAnn probably came out the best out of everyone this episode, with Jill being a very close second. Thank goodness Ramona was only a fly by.

I don't like Kelly. I was laughing at her "I don't lend my name to any cause" schpiel at Jill's charity meeting. Good Lord, she's impressed with herself. I find her annoying, and she really needs to do something about her rosacea. It looks painful.

I like Bethenny and Jill a lot. Ramona is nuts, but entertaining. LuAnn, eh. I go back and forth with her. Sometimes she's cool and sometimes she's over-the-top pretentious.

Simon and Alex are odd, but I still like them.

I agree! I don't even know Kelly's name so I could care less if lent her name to every charity on the planet. It would mean nothing to me! She is so full of herself! She also needs to lay off the tanning bed. She is about as interesting as staring at a wall.

I know! And when Simon said he didn't care what Ramona thought of him, I laughed. If he didn't care, he wouldn't have been in her face begging to know what she doesn't like about him after Ramona had said she didn't want to get into it there.

Bravo WANTS conflict & any one of these gals who wants to keep collecting their $10k per episode better make tham some conflict

I took it to mean put ketchup or water on your food so you wouldn't be tempted to eat any more of it. I just put my napkin on top when I'm done.

Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, one of the society ladies on Bravo's "The Real Housewives of New York," has separated from Count de Lesseps after 16 years of marriage. Her husband is a Frenchman whose ancestor presented the Statue of Liberty to the United States.

The reality star's publicist, Elizabeth Rosenthal, issued a statement Tuesday saying the couple "plan to remain friends and their primary focus will be to do what is best for their two children."

Rosenthal declined to comment on reports the breakup came after the former model learned The Count, Alex de Lesseps, was having a relationship with another woman.

But the Countess will keep her title, says Rosenthal. Her etiquette book, "Class With the Countess," arrives April 16.


Yeah, I read somewhere else that he fell for a woman in Ethiopia. Countess would call him and he wouldn't answer until he called her back to tell her that he met someone and that it was serious.

Wow - That is sad for anyone. It is very difficult when spouses travel so much and don't apparently spend a lot of quality time together. I wonder if she had any inkling of it all?
