"Speaking of the devil". I just finished reading this thread today and was channelsurfing and saw Danielle on Maury. They were doing makeovers to real housewives. Also had NeNe and Ramona on. Danielle and her "lover" sang. I changed the channel immediately.

Last weekend I had a conversation with a young lady who met Theresa.

It was a "Meet and greet" you paid $$ for and recieved a picture with Theresa and her cookbook.
As an aside-Theresa is a cousin of a cousin of this young lady and the girl adored the show.

She told me she was really dissappointed with her brief encounter with Theresa-she wasnt friendly AT ALL.

Edit: My DH & I lived in Hoboken from 2000-2004 and we had an apt in that exact same building as the Manzo sons. We actually freaked out when they showed it. A beautiful building overlooking the Hudson River with a complete view of NYC.

The two new ladies, umm, esp Teresa's SIL (Melissa) … I don't know what to think about her.

So I guess Teresa is still in her home???

Theresa is too hyper for me.

I'm not liking her SIL Melissa. I'm sure she has a lot to do with spliting up Theresa and her Brother. If they had a close relationship I'm sure Melissa didnt like it. I also think she's full of herself. Wonder how she would react if her hubby income was affected by the recession. I think she's be gone!

The party was insane!

I'm actually looking forward to this season. My 2 fav housewive shows are New Jersey and Orange County. Not crazy about the other shows.

I missed the part of how Kathy is related to them, did they say and also what town does she live in? Because they showed her riding her bike to Corrado's and I only know of one Corrado's.

I think Caroline is right....Melissa and Teresa are the same person, they just don't know it. They both are jealous of and want to one up each other. Excited to see how it plays out.

On a side note, the ladies were on the Today show this weekend, but Teresa was missing.....I wonder why, Teresa never seems to want to miss out on an opportunity to be in the public eye.

I heard she lives in Wayne, which is where I live. That was the Carrado's in Wayne - up on Berdan avenue. It looked like she was riding her bike past the reservoir there near Wayne Hills.

I liked Kathy but did not like Melissa at all. She is just mean and nasty. I also thought when she was talking to her son in the car about "going to the Kingdom of God" was ridiculous. You don't go to the Kingdon of God at your Baptism. It made her look like an idiot. The kids were adorable though.
Her Husband (Theresa's brother) I felt sorry for. He really seems to feel that his parents don't care about him and that is an awful feeling. I hope he is able to resolve that.

Sorry PP but I too would have shed some tears if my kids were moving out. It's not that she doesn't want them to grow up but she is a Mom. She is probably happy but it is bittersweet because the time goes by so quickly.

Jaqueline looks like she lost a lot of weight. I think she should gain some back because she looks too thin.

Ashley is simply annoying and lazy. What world is she living in that parents just give you an apartment because you want one? SLACKER!

ETA- I hate to say this but the whole episode I kept thinking that Joe and Theresa were heading for divorce. I hope that isn't true but I just couldn't shake it. Oh yeah= and she would have been on time if she did her own hair (like normal people) and her kids hair for the party instead of acting like she was going on the red carpet.

I love watching the show because it gives me a little home.
I'm from Wayne, I got married at the Brownstone and my brother got married at the Manor. I would love to have had Carrado's when I lived there, we had to go to Paterson to the market there back then. But we did love Market Basket in Franklin Lakes.

Wow, I'd say the Christening brawl takes the cake of all of the NJ housewive's brawls so far...it was actually sad in my opinion. There must be a lot of animosity (back story) to those relationships.

I was thinking the same thing! Who on earth would wear that to church?! It looks like somehting you would wear at a nightclub. If someone in my family dressed like that for their kid's Baptism we would all be looking at her like she lost her mind. Not cute at all.

THe Christening was just wierd. So many of them share the blame...who acts like that? Teresa was trying to look like she was being nice and innocent. But it seems like a high percentage of events she attends end up in chaos. In my lifetime of attending events, not one has ended up like that. Hmmm...coincidence that craziness just follows her....?
And her brother was clearly drunk. It would not occur to anyone I know to get drunk after their baby's Baptism.

None of this family fued makes sense. They kept suggesting (on the show and in the blogs)that there is more to this story that will come out. I have a feeling some of it has to do with money. I also agree Caroline was right that Teresa and Melissa are the same. THey cannot stand sharing attention.

So I can't relate to that whole drama. But I can totally relate to Caroline being sad that her kids are moving out. She wasn't barring the door, she really did know they needed to get out on their own. She was just emotional about it. I can totally relate.

I can relate to the Jaqueline and Ashley story , too, at least to a point. My DD is 13 so I am just getting into the teen daughter thing. But I know how it feels to never be able to say anything right. You think you are helping, but whatever you suggest, they just shut down/cry/blow up. What I cannot relate to is the way they discussed living arrangements, ending with Ashley in tears, in front of her "boss". Do neither of them know how to behave professionally? When the boss says you need to show up everyday, the answer is "I will." Then if their are issues with the commute, address them in private. Don't whine about it in front of the boss. Whatever issues DD and I have, we don't drag it out in front of everyone.

During the Christening reception, it was all a crazy blur, but I do remember one of the men making a comment as to why Teresa's Joe probably wasn't saying hello to them was because "he owed them money".
It has to go beyond just "competition" between them~

...and I just don't understand that if you claim bankrupcy how Joe and Teresa are still in that house with nice cars, hair stylists, make up artists, etc. Other than the parties Teresa said she was done having, it doesn't look like their lifestyle has changed much. Are her cookbooks selling that well? Sign me up to write one!
