Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

I was glad I turned on Bravo because I didn't realize it was going to be on last night. I thought the way the addressed the suicide at the beginning was tasteful. I personally don't feel they have to edit out all of his scenes or ignore the problems that were going on. Honestly, maybe someone would learn from the tragic situation.

I thought it was weird and awkward. But I'm not sure what would have been better. :confused3

I forgot about the rest of the show. :lmao:

I thought Taylor getting so upset about what Ken said was silly. He was asked if he would go to counseling. Not if Taylor and Russell should go to counseling.

The lawyer was on one of the HLN shows and said that there was not a book being written about him. Russels mom also said she hoped Taylor's next husband was a billionaire because that was all that could afford her.

Another interesting thing his mother said was during filming they all went to Los Vegas and Russell left for a while, Taylor acted all upset and hurt and the other women bashed him for leaving but his mother said he left to go and see his son play in a baseball tournament and that Taylor knew it was to go see his son. I have no doubt that is the truth, Bravo works things to make drama. I actually felt bad for him during the show because in my opionion he just did not want to be filmed. I think these women get on the show and it does not matter what their husbands think. I think it hit Alexis and her husband hard last season and that is why she was in tears at the party. The husbands get bashed and don't want anything to do with the shows but the wives keep on doing it.

And if Taylor was so abused by him why would she turn around and right a tell all book about him. I am not sure I believe she was doing it. I am not sure why though she thought she should go to a magazine and spill her dirty laundry. Her daughter will one day read that and no matter what is going on between them their daughter does not need to know about it and now with all the new stories coming out. That poor child is going to have a hard time growing up normal now.

Because the magazine was willing to pay plenty for her "dirt", and now with his suicide, if she does write a book, it will sell millions I bet and make her lots o' money.

Let's be honest, money is the root of all evil, for some people it is was makes their world go round. They don't care who they hurt or step on or humiliate, as long as they can make money off it. Sad, very sad.

So, did anyone else watch the premiere last night?

I did. Almost forgot.

This was my absolute favorite of all the 'housewives' shows.

I hope it can survive. I think they edited it well.

We'll see.

Thanks for the post, I haven't watched much tv lately, so I didn't realize the premiere was last night. I will go set my DVR for the new season~

1 show in and they did a great job. Camille was almost likeable too. ;)

I agree. I wish Lisa would get over the jealousy about Kyle being more friendly with Taylor though, high school was over a long time ago for her

Adrienne's reactions to her DH were a bit out of character for her.

I haven't watched last night's show yet, but personally I don't think Lisa is jealous. "Taylor" has always used people to her own advantage; if you were in a position to advance her social status, then she was your best friend, if not, not only was she not your friend, but she made sure to put you in your place at every opportunity. I think Lisa sees that and is afraid Kyle is going to eventually get hurt.

It's Taylor who still seems to be in high school...:sad2:

It is intersting to me how Bravo takes the most popular person from last season and then the next season turns them into the villian. I can already see it with Lisa, talking about the chef and they dogs and then the stuff with Taylor.

There is just something about Kyle that rubs me the wrong way. She just seems to know everything. I can't really put my finger on what it is but she just drives me crazy. And to be honest I am so sick of hearing about their mom. I think she uses that as an excuse to bully Kim.

Actually the quote is: The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. (1 Timothy 6:10)

And I don't think I'll watch RHBH this season, I just don't have the heart.

agnes!

I thought Taylor getting so upset about what Ken said was silly. He was asked if he would go to counseling. Not if Taylor and Russell should go to counseling.
I totally agree. She took it as a personal insult or offense when it had nothing to do with her or Russell. And I think she went way overboard in her reaction. I feel really bad for Taylor and what she is going through right now. But I still can't stand her. And I see her the way that Lisa sees her, very manipulative and a pot stirrer. And that whole scene in the bathroom was another example of that.

Again, I totally agree. It will be interesting to see how Bravo handles Taylor's storyline for the rest of the season. I'm sure, before his suicide, Russell was going to be raked over the coals by Taylor and the rest of the Housewives this season.

I agree it was silly of her to get so upset, but I think it was even sillier that Ken made such a big deal that Kyle said Taylor was "offended". "Offended is a BIG WORD, Kyle." Really? :confused3 OK, upset, hurt, whatever . . . why did he have to make such a big deal out of that?

This is what I would've said if I hadn't watched the episode yet either. ;) Don't get me wrong, I can't stand Taylor and I agree 100% that she is manipulative, etc., but Lisa did come across as jealous in last night's episode. Now whether it was just edited that way, I don't know, but it sure came across that way.

Yup. ::yes:: I see this happening, as well.

As another poster said above, I thought Adrienne was a little over the top with how she was treating her husband. I know they bicker, but she just couldn't let something meaningless go at the dinner. I hope that's an isolated incident because I really like her.

Also, why did Ken have to bring the dog to the dinner table? Even Adrienne/Paul didn't bring their new little dog to the table and it's their house. Having the dog at the table is disgusting enough, but then to have it drink out of your water glass and then for you to drink after it?!?! :scared1:

I was thinking the same thing...it reminded me of Jill on the New York show. She went from fan favorite to the villain of season two!

Ok, just watched it. I'll admit it did seem a bit like Lisa is jealous, but I still believe she's the only one who sees "Taylor" (I have to use quotes, because I can't get used to calling her that.) for who she really is. I think she feels protective of Kyle, and doesn't want her to be manipulated or hurt.

I was a little suprised at Adrienne snapping at her husband during dinner. She kept harping about how everyone should get along and not cause any drama at her party, then she caused drama with her hubby!

The Maloof needs to can it with the bickering Bickersons act - it was getting old last season, it's ridiculous now. She treats her husband like a moron. He's a surgeon, he can't be quite so dumb as she makes him out to be. Plus she was totally rude telling him he was being rude, which he wasn't.

Taylor needs a big dose of shut the heck up.

Ken didn't say anything 'wrong,' imo, he said if he went to therapy it would make him feel as if he were weak. That the giant pile of lips and hair had to go sobbing to the bathroom and wait for Kyle to come and then sob to her about it? Get a grip and can the dramatics, there, Lippy.

Still love Lisa, don't care if they're going to try for a villain edit, it'd have to be ridiculous for me to think too badly of her. Looks like they're trying to boost Camille's profile, but I can't see any way. Yes, her husband was a total jerk, but given what he lived with...

This franchise is my fave - it's the only one in which they're really rich, and it's the only one left with anyone I can stand on it.

Just saw the premiere!
Ok, I saw the part where they were discussing Russell Armstrong's suicide. I thought that it went well considering the tragic circumstances and at least it wasn't swept under the rug.

Camille: She came off better this episode. Something about her kind of grosses me out but her personality seems to be changing for the better..so I hope.

Adrienne: Jeez! That was an awkward dinner party. It was like being at a family Christmas party where the hosts are fighting with each other and then turn to you to ask about your day and how is your husband? Usually when that happens I try to stuff some mashed potatoes in my mouth so I don't have to answer. Basically I would pull a Kim and just eat mac n' cheese.
By the way, to the snooty chef with the face like he is perpetually smelling something nasty..no matter how you dice it and try to add things to it you basically made mac n' cheese. Congrats, you fed them what I gave my nephew to eat yesterday only his pasta was in the shape of Spongebob. Try creating THAT.
I didn't see how the husband was being rude. I felt that she was nitpicking at him for no real reason. He seems like a easy going guy and why does she have to pick at him like that? What is the point of having expensive wine when all you are going to do is sour other peoples' stomachs with your behavior?

Kim: I don't have much to say about her. I understand that what Kyle said to her last season was really hurtful and as much as Kyle wants to be a strong person I think she needs her sister as much as Kim needs her. If some of the gossip about Kim is true, I think she needs someone to confide in and to help her out.

That and she can pull of the rhinestone cowboy look pretty well.

Lisa: Love her! She is a lovely woman and I hope Bravo doesn't try to make her look like a bully. I don't think she is jealous of Taylor being close to Kyle but I think she knows that Taylor can be manipulative.

Ken's opinion of therapy was just that. An opinion, right or wrong it is what he thinks. Don't ask the man a question and then flounce off if you don't agree with it. I don't believe what he said was right but then again its his opinion of things.

I would be mad though if that dog drank out of my wine goblets. I don't care if you give the thing filet mignon and it has sweet breath of lavender and sugar. Its a dog and he's drinking out of my glasses. I would be ticked that the little rat drank out of the cups I got from Kohls last week. I would be livid if he drank out of my $500 wine goblets.

Kyle: She does annoy me. I don't know what it is. The constant hair fixing or something but something about her rubs me the wrong way. I thought that Kyle was making a bigger deal about Ken's comment than Taylor was.

Taylor: I will try to be a little bit easier on her but last season she annoyed me to no end. I feel awful for her situation and for the children.

Adrienne was way too hard on her hubby last night. He was being playful and she was so rude! With all those gold streaks in her hair, I thought she had a sense of humor. I guess I was wrong!
Ken and Lisa. Ugh. So fake. I've seen how he is with Jiggy, so IMO, he's in NO position to judge anyone on what makes a marriage work. He clearly has his own issues.

I will say that Adrienne's wedding dress hanging on the wall was so pretty! LOVED IT!

I thought Adrienne was soooooo rude to her husband not only during the dinner party but before! I also think she was totally playing to the cameras!! It seemed very fake.

Camille seems mellow so far. I'm sure going through a nasty public divorce makes everything else seem trivial.

As far as Lisa, I think others on here have it right. She sees Taylor for who she is and is concerned about her good friend Kyle getting sucked into it.

I don't see why Taylor got so upset about what Ken said. It was just his opinion. I understand at that point in Taylor's life things were rough but it was just his opinion. But Ken getting bent out of shape about Kyle using the word "offend...." Very strange.

I really hope that Kim is getting her life back on track. I do think that she has/had a drinking problem. It was good to see her pass on the champagne when she arrived.

And WHY was everyone dressed in blue??? Coincidence??

I'll be in the minority and say that Ken was rude. He was kind of criticizing the way Taylor was trying to save her marriage. And in the end, we all know how that worked out.

It's great he has his own opinion, but you don't have to say it to a vulnerable, hurting person at a dinner party. He should have said something on camera during the interview. If I agree with Ken, which I don't, I would have saved those remarks for a different time and to someone who is not currently going thru therapy.

I am in therapy and I would have been extremely hurt if someone said I was weak. And he said something like "get over it" or "just deal with it", I can't remember exactly what he said.

I used to hate Taylor, but obviously there was legitimate marriage issues and the therapy was not for attention. AND she didn't bring it up, someone else did. And when you are in therapy, you are extremely vulnerable in most cases. Now (well then) she probably went home thinking she really is weak. Well, that's what I would have done.

Like she said, he's a man that carries a little dog in clothes around and he implies she is weak?

Moving on, WTH was Kim wearing?
