Hello-
When do they cut off the end of the line for rides? For example- Epcot closes at 9:00. Soarin' has a posted wait time of 50 minutes. Can people get in line until 9- or do cast members try and judge the last ride to be at park closing and hope for the best? If people could still get in line at say 8:50- then guests would be in the park well after closing. Thanks in advance.

Anyone can get in line right up until park close.

keep in mind that is regular park close not EMH park close. I saw somewhere on here where some reported toy story mania closed the line early on an emh night and they said it was because the amount of people in the line would take them to the end of EMH.

I have seen different answers to this common question over the years but the one simple answer that has never steered me wrong is If CM's are letting you get in line then you will get to ride, sometimes well after published closing time. I wouldn't plan on showing up 5 min before closing and expect that you will certainly be allowed in but we have showed up to rides 15 to 20 mins before closing and had a posted 45 min wait and gotten in line and rode (part of that reason is because I think their end of the day posted wait times are inflated.

In the past we would be making our way to exit as it neared closing time, but now, unless we reached our limit or have to be up early the next morning or something we make our way to whatever ride we want to end the day with.

I would because the park is still open.

Disney does not close the attraction lines early. At Epcot for example, lines are open until straight up 9 pm regardless of the length of the queue.

However, they do often greatly exaggerate the wait time to discourage late arrivals. In your example, a posted wait of 50 minutes would generally mean an actual wait of 10-15 minutes. It is not uncommon to see a posted wait of 4 times the actual wait late in the evening.

You can use this info to your advantage and get in some really short lines late at night, while other guests shake their heads and just head to the exits and/or shops.

This is not correct. Toy Story only closes early on fireworks nights (Star Wars, Frozen, etc.). It reopens on EMH nights after the fireworks show ends and the area is cleared.

I have had one experience myself and have read others that were not allowed in line a few minutes before park closing, but there could have been some variable that night we were not aware of. Riding right at park closing is a great way to a last ride or two in. Two years ago my son and I rode Space mountain 5 times in a row just as fast as we could walk on in the last half hour or so.

My fondest Disney memory is chasing my then 3-year old daughter back to the entrance of Space Mountain moments before midnight with her screaming "one more time Daddy" all the way.

That being said, we've been many times and always stay out until the last park closes. We've never been turned away from a ride at closing time unless it is experiencing technical difficulties.

no i meant that they will sometimes close the line early towards the end of an emh night like 20 to 30 minutes or so. Something to keep in mind EMH hours are in addition to the regular hours and Disney says there is no guarantee everything will be open for the whole time

I can only comment using experience. We have approached a line right before closing and have always been let in. This past November, we did Dwarves, Soarin', Test Track and Big Thunder by entering the line with 5 or less minutes than park closing time - this was for regular hours, MVMCP hours and EMH. (all different nights, of course)
