Can a few of you look at this tell me what you think for prices?

We are a family of four, 2 kids 8 and 3, looking at 3/4-3/12.

First of all, those dates don't seem to fall on the crazy spring break weeks, according to *****************.

Secondly, when I priced out a value hotel for 8 nights, I came up with 119-129 a night (disney site). So $1202.

Tickets for 7 days with Park Hopper was $1045.

And then the dining plan for 800 for 8 nights for the 4 of us.

My total came to 3047.

So I contacted Small World Vacations and asked for the package with the new codes that are out.

She came back with 2543.90, which of course included the free upgrades to Park hopper, Water Parks, etc.

So at first glance, it seems like a 500 savings, even more actually because we are only paying for regular tickets, not park hopper.

Also, the hotel is ASMusic, although Pop Century was peaking my interest. Anybody have any luck with PC availability?

If you read this far, thank you! I have one last question:
If another code comes out between now and march with better savings, can I apply it later?

Thanks!

Well, it seems like quite a bit of savings to me. Two thing
1. Don't know if you know this, but one thing I've done is booked the first night room only (w/o tickets and dining) and then rechecked in the next morning with the package. If you have AAA the room will be discounted.Have always been able to stay inthe same room. We always arrive around 4 PM, and just stay at the resort and eat there on the first day. It saves money and allows to relax.
2. Are you saying the TA says there are no rooms left at POP? That is strange b/c I am going the week before Easter, staying in POP and there was no availability at ASMU. POP is larger too. I will probably stay w/ POP b/c of the transportion and location being better than the All stars.
Oh, my guess is there will be no other codes for the month of March. It is a busy time at WDW.

This was exactly the scrunity i was looking for!

So, no, I haven't actually asked about PC yet. I just asked for a quote for a value hotel. So PC is closer too? Yeah, I'm definitely going to ask about switching.

As for 6 day tickets vs. 7 day, she told me the difference was only 2.00 person. As it is, we are doing 8 nights with 7 day tickets, even though one day will be kennedy space, so really all we need is 6.

and wait, you ended with, "its a busy time!" Are you kidding me? Really?
Everything I am reading about that week is that it is between everything )spring breaks and the ESPN days). The crowd projections were mostly (out of 10) 6 and 7 with an 8 in there one of the days...I figured we'd go to Epcot or Kennedy that day.

And am I right that the weather is anywhere from 45-75?

And Narnia is the only significant thing closed, right?

Hi Golden,

I checked the Disney site and my total was $2,916.40. This was checking in the Pop Century Resort on March 4 and checking out on March 12. Two adults, two children, ages 8 and 3. Non-preferred location and seven day park hoppers but not the water parks and more. The Dining Plan was also included.

It takes two days to see the Magic Kingdom, a day and a half (we take 2) to see Epcot, a day to see Animal Kingdom and a day to see MGM Studios (which will be Disney's Hollywood Studios when you arrive). You said you wanted to see Kennedy Space Center so that's another day.

Unless you have your heart set on the water parks, I wouldn't think the free upgrade is that great of a deal. Also, given the ages of your children, you probably won't want to be park hopping either, especially if this is your first few times heading to WDW. It'll take you a while to get a lay of the land and park hopping takes up a good portion of your time.

If you take off the park hopper option, your total was just $2,724.70.

You could bump up to a moderate resort with your total being $3,349.90 for the CBR without park hopper option (but all other information the same) and $3,541.60 with the park hopper.

If a code does come out later and you read about it here on the boards or you see it on the Disney website, you can simply call Disney and tell them what you found. They will apply it to your existing reservation. I did this for our last vacation. I was given a room discount for three of our ten days and a free ticket upgrade. My savings was more than $350.00.

Hope this helps you in your decsion making process. Lisa

Thanks everyone!
It did work out to be cheaper than what I (and Lisa) found on the Disney site.

$2543 with DDP, 1776 w/o.

And no, I don't think we will get to the water parks, but the free upgrade to park hopper and the discount on the room was better than what I found online.

And she did say she could apply an other codes that come out between now and then.

And PC was available. And the difference between 6 day passes and 7 day passes was only 2.00 a person so I'm getting the 7 day in case we want to go to the parks for dinner, as I think we will be getting the DDP.

So we're booked! Yahoo!
Now I just need to come up with a park plan so I can figure out the ADRs.

Thanks!
