OK, I'm about to pull the trigger on our first cruise. My hands are literally shaking. It's a 3 day cruise 8/18/05. We are looking at two connecting cat 10 rooms #2071 and 2073. We have three kids but I didn't want an outside stateroom (I'm a little nervous about cruising and I thought it would be easier to sleep if I couldn't look out--maybe I'll forget I'm on a boat).

Any thoughts on those rooms? That deck? Please convince me I'll love this. We travel to WDW twice a year (so I'm used to spending $$) but cruising seems SO expensive. I can't see how it could be worth it.

My hubby has been working in California this year (we live in PA) and my mom just passed away a couple of weeks ago, so we've had a crappy year. We're doing our usual 12 days at DVC, but I thought it would be nice to surprise the family (including DH) with a cruise at the end. They've been great and I want to treat them to something to let them know I love them  .

Please, convince me!!

we have always been in a cat 10 deck 2 room.. we really love it. It is very quiet, don't feel the motion of the boat as much as others do on the higher decks. Plus you get GREAT exercise by walking up the stairs to dining..

Wow, thanks for the link. I didn't see those on DU's site.

I'm feeling a little better. I think quiet (and less motion) is good for a first cruise. It's the bill that will make me seasick!

I had these very rooms in Oct of 2003. They were very convenient and located in midship was was great! We had 2071, as to the side of it was a conference room and of course on the other side was 2073. In fact, I was going to book the very same rooms for our last cruise in Nov 2004, but my DH wanted a verandah. Then for our upcoming cruises, I was again going to book them but we lucked out and got the SPH rooms. The location was great! One flight of stairs up and you were in the lobby. The only time we ever had to deal with elevators was to get to Deck 9.! Great loc!

Wow. Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to do it.

dzneprincess--do the rooms have twin beds or a queen bed?

snow dog mom--please post a report when you get back!!

Jenny

Jenny, like all rooms the queen bed is 2 twins pushed together to make a queen. So you can have it either way, and these rooms do have the bed that comes down from the ceiling.
