Reverand Day is FABULOUS when it comes to letting you customize your ceremony. I LITERALLY wrote every detail of my wedding ceremony, wrote it up in a word document, and he recited every word perfectly! (it was a 30 minute ceremony)
So many of my friends and family were like "What are you doing?! Just do a traditional format and flow for the ceremony!" But my fiance and I really wanted a customized ceremony, choosing all the important words ourselves. My husband and I were at Barnes and Noble months before the wedding and saw a book "The Wedding Ceremony Planner" by Reverend Judith Johnson, PhD and it walked you through every aspect of the ceremony and had about 20 choices of wording for each part of the wedding (opening prayer, gathering wrods, rememberances and acknowledges, readings, wedding vows, etc) My husband and I took a small part each night and choose the pieces that worked best for us. And the pieces I didn't like or didn't suit us? I wrote our own!!! It was a lot of hard work but it really was a masterpiece when it was done! (at least for us, anyways!)
That long story aside, yes, Reverand Day will let you as many or as little readings as possible. We had 2. My cousin Marc did the traditional Corinthians reading (love hopes all things, believes all things, endures all things, believes all things, love never fails, etc..etc..) and we had my mother in law do an original reading. She kept it a surprise from everyone so it was sooo emotional and joyful hearing it for the first time at the ceremony. They were both very different readings (one traditional..one original) but it incorporated wonderfully.
Best wishes and make sure you have your ceremony exactly how you always dreamed it would be!!
If anyone would like to see the word document that shows exactly how flow and wording for our wedding (if you are looking for ideas) please let me know! I'd be happy to send it along!
