Hello fellow readers!

I thought I would start the annual thread to discuss what we read in 2026. I always get many good book recommendations from these threads! Feel free to post your goal for total number of books you would like to read as well.

I had a goal of 32 books for 2025, and wound up being one book shy of my goal. For 2026, I am going to set my goal as 32 books again.

Happy reading!

Like you I was one shy of my goal-my goal was 56, I read 55. But unlike you, I'm making my 2026 goal the same as my actual from last year. So for 2026, my goal is 55 books.

I've been an avid lurker on this thread for a few years but this year I want to try to jump in and join along :)

I set a Goodreads goal of 75 Books for 2026. I read 73 books in 2025 so just more or less hoping to stay on that same path.

Right now I am reading The Friendship Fling by Georgia Stone. Its more or less a 'fluff' read to me and it's okay in my opinion - but this is the second time I've had it checked out with Libby and I'm still only at 60% read with 3 Days left. Hopefully I can do some power house reading this weekend :) It's obviously not pulling me in very quickly overall.

Reading Bruce feiler walking the Bible for the 4th time... not a study guide or inspiration book but a fantastic travel thru culture book..

Up next Monogamy a novel by sue Miller....has a deep secret.... I like novels with secrets... but my goal is 30 between June and October that is when I hibernate in Yuma

I'll start with y usual 12 book goal and will increase from there. Sadly, my reading slacked off the last few months. Gotta pick it back up for 2026 :duck:

Most of the reading I do is on my Kindle app and is from Kindle Unlimited and are completely fluff books normally involving witches. If I am counting those then I read a lot, like 2 books a week but I almost don't want to count those. So my goal this year is to read 15 physical books.

If there were any books I wanted to read, I guess I would be more motivated. I did a lot of searching when I put my Christmas list together and there was nothing out there. I have a lot of friends who have written books. I have read most of those, but not a fan of novels. I did read one book in 2025 and it was a novel and it was sooooooooo strange, it reminded me of why I don't read novels.
I can check out lots of books for free from the library, and I have the Kindle App on my tablet.
