Helloo!!! Hi! Hi!

I am off for my 15 minutes of bluish sunlight. Oh, and of course I will be reading while I am there??! :teeth:

here is something crazy that happened today

I went to Starbucks and ordered a light banana coconut frappacino. It was yummy. I forgot to ask about the cals as I usually do. So I looked it up on the website but then could not find my WW slide rule point thingy...so I went to the WW community boards to ask.

I got totally FLAMED for drinking my POINTS!!! (it was only 3 btw!!) hello??? i AM LIFETIME people, I think I know what to drink (cosmos anyone??) and what to eat!!!

flames all over the place...someone even said

"banana flavored coffee? NO I WILL NOT HELP YOU."

yikes. Scary isn't it???

Its supposed to be a support board.

All I could do was link my "before and after shots" to those rude people and tell them obviously I know what to choose for myself...and how to run on a mean treadmill thank you very much.

but they hurt my feelings...

you know that is the reason most diets fail, people like that think they can never have any kind of treat and never learn about moderation etc...

sorry I am venting today

school is almost out and I have seen no clowns on this thread as of yet. I kind liked the freekydee clowns but they are gone :guilty:

someone post me a clown please...thanks

Give that poor bear some honey! I think he's lost weight! hooP, he is not well enough to elliptical with you.

Did you know that when I was at the Disney Saratoga Springs Resort last December I was working out in the fitness center and saw a guy reading his book while he was on the elliptical machine. I couldn't do that. When I read it relaxes me. I need fast music to keep me motivated.

I do not blame you for being upset. I am very suprised at the WW board. I wonder if they have moderators there.

I tried all kinds of diets and the one that finally worked for me was the one where I decided I was going to make a life change. You are so correct about learning moderation. I lost over 60 pounds that way. I started by elliminating very little at a time. For example I would go to MacDonalds and order a cheesburger but no fries. I lost my first 20 pounds by just limiting my meal portions and not any one type of food and especialy not snacks. I then started decreasing my carbs, again not all, just less. Now I exercise and on days that I have snacks I will have less at my other meals. You probably are doing the same thing.

Smile and think of all you have accomplished.

Hey PMM...that would be The Deadliest Catch aka The Crab Catch show. It's DS's favorite show right now. He gets so excited when it comes on.

As far as the support group goes, don't sweat the mean people. You got much love right here Woman.

School's Out for Summer !!!!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Long day with me runing between Max and Sophia's parties, cooking 180 hot dogs... and so on.

Then we went swiming at a friends house, because boy was it hot today. Mid 90's with about 100% humidity.

I am so ready for summer, but so not ready for triple digit temps.

I am beat and still need to figure out what to feed people for dinner, so this is really just a drive bye post.

Just wanted to say hi to all my fellow Sea Dogs. ly/mi

180 hotdogs?? Gross. Really. And why do you need to figure out what to feed people for dinner? Didn't you just feed them 180 hotdogs?? :teeth:

Also, for the love of god people that are experiencing warmer weather than the frozen tundra that is my home - did you not see my pitiful attempt to experience sunshine by exposing myself to those bluish lights??

Yeah... that means all of you. Movie lovers, poetry lovers, current event followers... EVERYONE! Geez. This thread is for everyone and everything.

I thought I'd tell you all about a little interest of mine. One of many. And I thought I'd see if anyone shared it, here.

The story of the Titanic hitting an iceberg in April 1912 is familiar to all of you. I think. No. I know. Everyone knows, at least, a little bit of that tale. Or has seen the movie. "My heart will go on"... and all that crap. The sinking of that great ocean liner stunned the world in 1912 and is considered, to this day, the shipwreck of all shipwrecks. People are DRAWN to this disaster story over and above many others. There are, literally, hundreds of books written about it. That's just books, mind you, too. Anywho... EVERYONE knows of that fated ship. EVERYONE. Why? I can't answer that... really. There are many theories as to why the story has grabbed the interest and hearts of so many. But, one thing is certain, you either "get" the Titanic fever... or you don't. And those that "get" it have a passion for it which keeps the story of the sinking of The Greatest Ship Ever... alive. I have it. I'll admit.

Two recent reads, on the subject, are:

Ghost Liners: Exploring the World's Greatest Lost Ships. By Dr. Robert Ballard. Co-written by Rick Archbold. It is a children's book. Because my middle son Calvin shares many of my little passions, too. And because I just like to read children's books. It is basically a shorter version of Ballard's book Lost Liners.

Titanic - The Norfolk Survivors. By John Balls. It is quite difficult to find. Anywhere. But it's worth it. Amazing little tale.

Those are just two. I thought I'd mention. Because the story of the Titanic is... a classic!!!! And, to use Disney terminology of which you are all familiar, it is... a Fastpass! I just wondered... does anyone else here have a passion for stories of the sea? Besides me? Because there are many stories out there. Fascinating ones.

Cheers, Mel.

Hey there! Well yes, sorta, and no, sorta. Not a passion, but I do find stories of the sea interesting. The Titanic caught my fancy when we lived in Halifax. I am sure you know that cities connection. I really love old graveyards and many of the people that died on the Titanic rest in Halifax. They do a really cool, creepy dee candle light tour.

Halifax is a fantastic little city to visit if you ever get the chance.

You should come visit me. Sophia is afraid to be alone even while she is asleep, so she sleeps in Max's bottom bunk (or in my bed), so we always have room.

I had to use aloe twice already this 'summer'- too bad I do not tan. I start out white as a ghost, get burnt, peel, and am white again. Repeat.

Yeah the hot dogs were gross. I feed the entire fourth grade lunch, with two other ladies. About 80 kids. We had watermelon too, and chips, and lemonaid, and then root beer floats. The watermelon was out standing, I think this is going to be a good year for it. Strawberries are really good this year too. I need to go pick some before the heat kills them. Love my berries, yum.

Come to think of it, I think is is Steven's turn to figure out dinner. I feed the fourth grade today, I think I can call it a day.

Gotta go now, forgot to mail FIL a birthday card... and it is his 65th. I need to drop it at the main post office and pray it gets there super fast.

let me pack a bag. I'll be right there! I never burn. Go figure, with all that pale skin. Must be the Black Irish in me!

Oh, note of warning here~ you wouldn't actually want to use this term in Ireland proper to refer to someone who looked like myself. It's more of a literal translation there.

Tequila and Salt

This should probably be taped to your bathroom mirror where one
could read it every day. You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.

1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die
for.

2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.

3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want
to be just like you.

4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they
don't like you.

5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.

6. You mean the world to someone.

7. You are special and unique.

8. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.

9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes
from it.

10. When you think the world has turned its back on you take
another look.

11. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the
rude remarks.

So............If you are a loving friend, send this to everyone,
including the one that sent it to you. If you get it back, then they
really do love you.

And always remember....when life hands you lemons, ask for tequila
and salt and call me over !
