Mornin' Y'all!!! Dont know if I fit in here BUT I am anti-fanny pack. So I'll butt right in!
I figured I was being RUDE lurking so I thought I'd say HI!

Today is the first day of school for 3 out of my 4 kids AND I go to WDW on the 5th-14th. Anyone else?? I have treats for other DISers.
So I have 7 days to lose weight, get tan, whiten my teeth, and look impressive...or not.

From what I've seen (the quote in your siggie included), I suspect you'd fit right in here! Nice to see you, and feel free to drop in anytime!

Thanks for joining the anti-fanny pack brigade.

Lots and lots of us are heading down soon, but not til the end of September, so we'll miss you! What kindsa treats you got? Maybe you could leave the leftovers behind for the Maelstrommers to pick up....I'll be staying at the WL. Just sayin'

Have a great trip!!!!

Welcome UtahMama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seven days? Piece of cake............

Hey UtahMama ...
Welcome! To the craziness! It's sort of calm today. But don't let that discourage you. ;) Stick around!

Are your kids going with you? Just starting school and all? I need to know your secrets!!

Hi Kim and Jamal and AshClan Thanks for the Welcome. :goodvibes
My treat is a surprise ;) from Utah and is in a craftily decorated bag with a Alien Green Mickey Head Paint chip with my name on it. So, if I left you one at the WL guest services and say give this to AshClan they wont look at me like I've sprouted a 3rd head or anything? (PM me with your "real" name and the date you check in and I'll make sure you get one. Really!) You'll likey!!!

Well...Yes the kids are going. EEEEEeeek! I KNOW it's not good to take kids out of school BUT this trip was booked and paid for and precious ADR's made when the kids were on year-round school! The school district decided they'd switch to "traditional" schedule. THE NERVE! Don't they KNOW who I am?! Fortunately, also being a "mean" mama, I've worked it out with the teachers to let my kids work on their "homework" while on vacation....consisting of reading 30 minutes each day and doing a report on their favorite country at the World Showcase (that's for my 3rd grader). My first grader's teacher said he'll learn MUCH more at , say, Epcot then at school and we just have to bring her some peanut brittle from the candy store. My 17 yr. old DS is the only one I am worried about. He's bright but that's a whole lotta high school to miss. He's going to try to get his assignments ahead of time.

Great Job, Amy!!! Very well put, and I agree. Even though you never really put down a decisive opinion. I'm reeeaaaalllly good at being indecisive. :teeth:

Susan, would you expect anything else from a lawyer? ;)

Plus she avoids the wrath of the Enforcer

Hi Sheri

Look closely............ but it was 2 easy not to do it :teeth:

She sounds like a Disney addict!!!!!

Welcome to the craziness, glad you came out of lurkdom. (Somehow, I suspected the lurker status . . .) If you have been lurking, then you probably know some of what happens here on a daily basis. I will assume that you were not frightened off because of it and, therefore, are willing to play.

We're gentle. Especially to new women. Crash needs to watch out for the rooster though!

What great ages (of kids) to be taking to Disney!!!! Have they gone before? (I should probably know the answer to this questions already, huh? It probably shows that I have fallen down on my reading someplace.)

Reason: JW is right about that. It is the job of a lawyer, except in giving closing argument. It is the job of the judge (which I am NOT, thankyouverymuchforrubbinglemonjuiceinmywound) to make a decision.

Yes, I considered that Amy did a good job at "lawyerspeak" in that non-decision. But I still like the way she handled it!

Oh, and JW, don't you work for NOAA? Can you give us any inside info on Ernesto???

Ladies and Gentlemen, prepare to be amazed.

I'm done.

Believe it.

Except for the epilogue, which will be a darn good story on its own, this Viking's trip report is complete.

I'm said. To miss re-living it.

And happy.To be done.

And ready. To get there with you dear friends and stir up a mess of meomries of our own.

Thanks for watching my back when I fell off page one.
Thanks more for reading and replying.

You nuts rock.

Welcome UtahMama and my hubby! Man that was fun making him DIS for himself! Heh, he wanted me to post a thread question for him on the Theme Park board, and I said, "why don't you just do it yourself?" I have read enough DIS stuff to him that he knows that he'll get an answer or 3 ... hundred. ;)

I better explain that edit thing to him though, but at the time I was tired of explaining stuff.

Yay Jamal! I need to go catch up with your TR. It's bittersweet, though, to be finished. TR's become our "babies"...

GeorgiaAristocat....My kids are 2, 6,8, and 17. The 2 year old is my only girl. I have a huge long intro in my PRE-pre Trip report (I do not suggest starting a pre-trip 43 days before... dont ask!) It became a huge chat room and so it is in a coma till 9/1 which is a more fitting time to start, yes?

Amy!! NM!! Do you know about this??

http://www.coxcapitoltheatre.com/calendar.htm

Downtown Macon? Eat Ingleside Village Pizza whilst enjoying a film? We did it a couple of weeks ago. The movie was Madagascar (yuck), but it was fun, and the pizza was good. Cars will be there for a week or more, starting Friday, I believe. Wanna make a movie date with the kiddos?

We were thinking of going Sunday afternoon... but now I'm thinking it might be fun to go with my parents the following weekend, while they're here (going to see the Braves Friday the 8th)...

Rhonda ~
I had NOT heard, it DOES sound like fun. And I would like to see Cars again.

Let me know. The hubby has started back to classes. 3 or 4 this semester. He is feeling stress already. Poor baby.

I'm thankful each semester that I did college between the ages of 18 and 22 when I had no other responsibilities. Like a full-time job and a wife and two children.

My hats off to those who do it later. Amazing. I can barely think at the end of the day, let alone concentrate on ((((shudder)))) college algebra.

Fun, yes. Lots of fun! We want to see Cars again, too. I'll see if we can narrow down a time...

Well its not really inside info but the current estimates are that it will hit the southern east coast of Florida (probably around Homestead), follow the coast up to about Ft Pierce or so and then back out over water until it gets to SC or NC. You probably do not want to be in Miami on Tuesday or Wednesday, but it most likely is only going to be a tropical storm when it gets there and not a hurricane.

This is a track that is significantly to the east of the earlier predictions and could change again. The entire east coast of Fl will probably get alot of wind and rain but probably not alot of damage. The Orlando area probably will not get anything worse than what they get with the normal thunderstorms that go through.

Thanks, Joe! I'm feeling better about our friends who live down there and those who are going to be visiting. But will Horsey have any trouble getting out on Tuesday night? Sounds like she'll be okay. Phew!

Well, Steph and Sher pulled me into the debate about EDIT-QUETTE over on Steph's TR:

So There.

Amy,

Does Rule #2 specify a time period in which the edit must be completed to be in compliance with the rule?

If not then I suggest that the rule be amended to clearly specify the period of time in which the poster must edit to avoid being flagged. Extenuating circumstances (sucky server, power failure, phone call from fellow maelstomer, etc.) should also be specified that are sufficient justification for the flag to be picked up and the penalty waved off.
