I went to a presentation about the Year of a Million Dreams promo today.

Some cool stuff, like increased cast interaction, new rides, etc. (Looks like a couple cute new Nemo rides at AK and Epcot), some cool things like going to a princess ball and getting to learn how to sword fight like a pirate and becoming a member of Capt Jack's crew, of course all the giveaways and magical moment increases in the parks (MK mainly though).
Anyway, I knew pretty much all that stuff, but here is a new thing I learned today:

Some new buttons you can get besides the birthday buttons, like

"JUST MARRIED" - Pongo, are you seeing this? (Cindy coming down the staircase to meet her Prince Charming waiting at the bottom)

"First visit"
"Anniversary"
"Reunion"

Of course these are designed to get you more attention, so go forth and button, my friends!

Phew, just finished fine tuning my DS12's summer "book reports". Just in the nick of time, as school starts tomorrow! Backpacks are set, and the boys are actually old enough that I don't even have to help them pick out their clothes. Jeans and (school-appropriate!) t-shirts are pretty much it at this age. Although school picture day (which requires nicer clothes) at the HS is this Friday!! Geesh, nothing like getting it over with right away!! TG we cut Kevin's hair and got him to shave last weekend!

I knew both of those songs well, although our versions were a little different. Same idea, and gross, gross, gross. Both of my versions ended..."Mmmm, wish I had a spoon." ((shudder))

Yes, I think you can safely say I was not quite a "frequent poster" until I joined this crazy crew. HOWEVER, my post count would have been a lot higher if it hadn't zeroed out sometime between 10/2001 and 4/2005. I spent a lot of time on the cruise boards before our Halloween 2001 trip. But then the server was updated or something, and POOF! My post count disappeared.

Well people, it's crunch time. We leave in a little over 10 days. Clothes to wash, house to clean (I hate cleaning when we get back, so it must be done before), packing to do.

We're getting pretty excited. We have had one fly in the ointment however, Jen's dad is having problems with his back/leg. As in back AND leg...not back leg...as in he has two sets of legs...oh shut up. You know what I mean.

I am trying to convince him that this isn't a problem as he can simply rent a ECV, but he has pride issues and I may have a fight on my hands.

Oh well, I'm a big boy. I can handle it.

By the by...Mark and/or Rhonda...we need to firm up some plans, provided you still want to waste some of your precious time in MK meeting with the Gracies.

Yak --did you get rain today? We didn't get any yet. We almost missed the school bus this morning though. No one told us that it would come 10 minutes sooner this year. Only 3 kids out of 15 made it. Then poor Hannah came home sick and went to bed with a fever at 6:00 and is still there. She was up most of the night worrying about grade one.

NAB, our boys' bus was completely changed. They stopped in front of the church, and it was one of the first stops. This year was our #2S's first year. First day on the bus, Dre and I waited and waited. No bus showed up. I finally went looking for them. At this point, it was about 30 minutes late. I called the bus barn. They nonchalantly said, "Oh the bus route has been moved. Your boys will be the last ones off the bus. And they won't get off at the church."

I was a little hacked at the school system. No announcements about bus routes, anywhere. It wouldn't have been as infuriating if #2S hadn't been a first time rider.

School buses are very scary. We had a few times that one or the other one wasn't even on the bus and was left at school. They said they called but no one answered, well duh I am at the bus stop. Mind you the bus driver knows me and my kids now so she will even wait for my slow poke.

First time on the bus, he must have been excited. Hannah loves the bus but next year we will have a new school in the neighbourhood so we can walk. I will miss the socializing part myself. Mom's talking to mom's.

Sorry to hear of Hannah being sick on the first day of school. Poor thing, hope she's feeling better! Nothing a few Timbits won't fix, I hope!

Just got back from the rink and putting the kidlets to bed.

The kiddies had their first day today. No bus issues, as it is the same driver as last year. DD - who likes school, doesn't think she'll like it this year. I'm not thrilled with the teacher she got, but she's a good student so she'll do alright. She's in grade 6 in Canada or 6th grade in US.

DS - who doesn't like school is in a split grade 2/3 class He's in 3. And he thinks he'll like it this year. He has a he teacher which is good for him after the nightmare we had last year.

So all was well for the back-to-school in the YAK household!!

Steph, you are a wonder!! As in, "I wonder how she DOES that?!?!" And yep, my boy has some button pressing tendencies. Loves the computer. and anything with switches or buttons.

And he has strep. Taking the big-boy medicine. Poor buddy. Still running a temp today. He can't go back to school until Thursday. Nobody lick your keyboards!!

I have been a busy girl today and tonight. Tomorrow I'm going to work on tags for a bit!
