Hi everyone!

First of all,

Happy Birthday Donna!

40th%20surprise.jpg

AND, Rhonda, so sorry your birthday weekend wasn't stellar. I have gained a new appreciation for my family. (That's mine, not my husband's!) We were all thinking of you, and Sher's right, we will DO IT UP RIGHT at the Meet!

Hope Grammy is having a blast in Mel-country.

We had a great weekend. Got quite a bit of sun, and saw RICKY BOBBY today before we left. Thought of you all through it, Chris. It was great!

YAK, the Pluto pics were great! Thanks for sharing.

I think that's all for now. Missed you guys!

If you are fortunate enough to have a close-knit, happy family, be thankful. If you have a screwed-up, dysfunctional family, I'd love to commiserate with you. If only we had a free weekend... we'd be off to WDW to make up for the injustice of the past weekend!!

Sorry you went through all of that Rhonda. Believe me, I can relate.

Rhonda!!! Happy Birthday, chica! I'm not sure how I missed that one. Maybe the skipping of all the reading in a fu-tile attempt to keep up. Family reunion / birthday sounds like "fun." ha. I can relate, too. (Just you wait until my NEXT TR comes out. The one where we go with my inlaws, BIL, SIL and their 2 kids. And all sleep in the same villa. Eeeps!)

SleepyD -- I'm gonna have to putcha in yer place, dog! Sheridac was here first. It's the Sheridac and SleepyD show, savvy?

GAKitty -- no more tumble bus?? I second the bubble wrap idea. All 3 of mine are in the gym this year, well, Syd will be in the "little kid" room, but C & P are both doing "pre team". 4 hours a week. EACH. They're too young for this, really, but they seem to have inherited their parents' non-affinity for team sports. So gym it is!

Have fun in Canada, Grammy! Catch you on the flip side!

Happy Birthday to you, too, Donna! Sorry I missed it!

Ash! Only another week-ish! Are we still on?

OK, need a little girlygirl shopping advice.

I need to get some new Disney shoes.

I have Crocs, but I have not been able to wear them out of the house yet. Well, just to the beach. And they are bright aqua. And my dh hates them.

And, well, our trip in Oct. is a little getaway for the 2 of us, and I'd like some shoes that are cute but still COMFY for walking around World Showcase dozens of times. While eating and drinking.

Any suggestions?

What do YOU wear for shoes when you go to Disney??

Here's a little story for you.

She spent the first day packing her belongings into boxes, crates, and suitcases.

On the second day, she had the movers come and collect her things.

On the third day, she sat down for the last time at their beautiful dining room table by candlelight, put on some soft background music, and feasted on a pound of shrimp, a jar of caviar, and a bottle of chardonnay.

When she had finished, she went into each and every room and stuffed half-eaten shrimp shells dipped in caviar into the hollow of all of the curtain rods. She then cleaned up the kitchen and left.

When the husband returned with his new girlfriend, all was bliss for the first few days. Then, slowly, the house began to smell.

They tried everything; cleaning, mopping, and airing the place out. Vents were checked for dead rodents, carpets were steam cleaned, and air fresheners were hung everywhere!

Exterminators were brought in to set off gas canisters, during which they had to move out for a few days, and in the end they even paid to replace the expensive wool carpeting. Nothing worked.

People stopped coming over to visit.

Repairmen refused to work in the house.

The maid quit.

Finally, they could not take the stench any longer and decided to move.

A month later, even though they had cut their price in half, they could not find a buyer for their stinky house.

Word got out, and, eventually, even the local realtors refused to return their calls.

Finally, they had to borrow a huge sum of money from the bank to purchase a new place.

The ex-wife called the man and asked how things were going.

He told her the saga of the rotting house.

She listened politely and said that she missed her old home terribly and would be willing to reduce her divorce settlement in exchange for getting the house back.

Knowing his ex-wife had no idea how bad the smell was, he agreed on a price that was about 1/10th of what the house had been worth, but only if she were to sign the papers that very day.

She agreed, and, within the hour, his lawyers delivered the paperwork A week later, the man and his girlfriend stood smiling as they watched the moving company pack everything to take to their new home, including the curtain rods.

Kimmie!!!

That's right!!! Take that D!!!

And.

Shoes.

That's a toughie. I'm kind of an Evil Emperor Zurg badshoe original.

However.

In my defense.

I wear heels every day.

I really could wear heels in the parks and be A-ok.

But.

I do have some really cute Deisel sneakers.

And.

Some really cute flip-flops.

And.

I do have 2 pairs of Crocs (so there, JW!!)

But.

I also have.

Some really cute sandals.

Heels.

Wedges.

I wear them all. :teeth:

Kimmie: Teva flipflops. That's pretty much all I wear anymore. Although Mark and I both got some Teva Dozers last week. But still, my Teva flipflops (Owahu, I think) are the most comfy Disney shoes I have. No blisters, ever. And nice support. Plus, they're only about $22. Can't beat 'em! Go to Teva.com~or shoes.com~either way, good stuff!!

Evenin' All!

Rhonda - I just read your mini-TR! Whew what a weekend. Sorry it wasn't so good-ish. I hate that! Spent some time with DH's family yesterday and I can relate to some of it. At least you're home now, and you've done your time!

Kimmie - sorry can't help you.........'cause as Sher already knows, I'm a Disney fashion Queen.........sneakers and fanny pack! All the way, baby!
(hee-hee!)

Amy/Rhonda - I had trouble with the Croc sizes too. While trying them on I ran into a guy that worked for Croc's. He said that the sizes vary according to the colours. Example, light colours are a bit bigger than the size and dark colour's are smaller. I have a 6/7 white and they fit perfectly (I'm a 7 normally) but the 6/7 dark brown were too small. The next size up dark however, were too big. He said it has something to do with how they are made. (He got really technical and my eye's glazed over and all I heard at that point was....blah, blah, blah, blah, light colours smaller)

OK gotta go and finish Plutopants.

ta, ta!

I'm still on if you are. Still trying to reach Horsey, though. I PROMISE to call you tomorrow. Is any time of day better than another?

I am off to bed. Because I was off today...it feels like a Sunday night... :sad2:

Whoo-hoo....bark, bark, bark. I'm going to the Magic Kingdom!

Here I am riding on the monorail
DisneyJuly06271.jpg

Those YAK kids love BUZZ......I love this ride too. But I found it a little hard to shoot. No thumbs!

DisneyJuly06274.jpg

However, I did beat the YAK's. I scored 553,000! And this is where they left me for the day.....

DisneyJuly06275.jpg

Mickey..............help!

They finally let me go, and it was off to The Castle.

DisneyJuly06276.jpg

And lookie who we ran into on the way........Me!

DisneyJuly06277.jpg

Finally........something to eat, I was starved. I heard on the Maelstrom thread that this was a great place to eat, so I insisted we go to Ray's. I wouldn't stop licking YAK's face until she agreed...

DisneyJuly06290.jpg

I had a great time at the Kingdom.....

Up next. Plutopants visits home.

Epcot. My favourite park. I was born there. Or adopted. Or purchased there. Whatever. By a very nice family of Happyhaunts. I've now been to the World so many times I can't remember. More than Wesley, I think. But I always love coming home:

DisneyJuly06304.jpg

One of my favourite things to do while at Epcot:

DisneyJuly06326.jpg

But the silly mask didn't fit....

We finally made it to my home.....

DisneyJuly06328.jpg

Check out the wait! And the fastpasses were gone!!! See, people you do need a fastpass. YAK wouldn't take me 'cause she didn't want to wait.
Silly woman. The best ride in the park. According to me. Bark!

The YAK's did let me take the time to visit some of my old Pals. We laughed, joked and had a grog or two.

DisneyJuly06330.jpg

Then it was a quick spin around in my old ship. Captain Jack wasn't around so I pirated it all by myself.

DisneyJuly06332.jpg

So this is where our journey ends, fellow Vikings. I hope you enjoyed my little trip around the World. I had a brief visit to Canada with the YAK's.
This is me in the car on the way home.
DisneyJuly06297.jpg

but as I write this, I'm jetting my way to Iowa for another fun filled visit to the Poly with PMM! Catch you later Viking's and looking forward to meeting with you in the future!

Remember: Maelstrom........is a fastpass?

How's it going?! Yes, I'm still up (not for long, though). Are you still out-of-pocket this Friday? We're hoping to pull off a mini-meet, and you're still invited!! (But I KNOW you're really busy....)

Ash!! My friend, are you there? Did you say that you work in Finance? I am having a horrible time with some of my finance homework, do you know anything about Risk Premiums? :confused3

Sorry, sweetie. I work in HR. I'm pretty good with numbers and budgets, but I can't help you with Risk Premiums. Maybe Pongo could help you?? :confused3

Oh..HR I'm sorry. You have everyone coming to you about their benefits? I get a bit of that too. Ever wonder why they won't read their benefit book before they ask you that dumb question?

Anyone know anything about Risk Premiums?

I have decided that there is no need for college. I am a smart person...I can be trained. If I can be hired and trained to do the job, why the heck do I need a degree?!?!?! :confused3 :confused3

I spend thousands of dollars to get one piece of paper that is worth, what, $2.00? And a lot of pain and suffering was endured to get it. Not only to me but to the whole family. (Maybe that is why Master G was wolley)

Anyhoo....Now that I have vented....3 weeks and I will officially be a college graduate!!! :cheer2:  :cheer2:
