Hi Gerri. Lou follows me around posting clowns. They used to be my worst nightmare, but he has helped me overcome that.

I also had a Maxbon! I love bernese mountain dogs and had one growing up.

Welcome, and glad to finally see ya! :yay:

Well you said I'm west of wherever (which I'm not) and you said I'm always wrong (which seems to be the prevailing opinion). So I didn't think it warranted comment.

Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated.

I didn’t like the way the Disboards were headed because I didn’t like the way the man was keeping down one of my friends. I was also concerned that I was spending too much time on here, so I decided to start a blog to solve both problems. That worked for a little more than a week.

Then, Master G pointed out that pictures I had posted through Photobucket allowed other people to access my entire album on that site. That gave me no real concern because the only pictures posted on Photobucket were pictures I intended for general consumption.

But as I later learned, at least one person wasn’t content just looking at the pictures I had there. One person attempted to access personal information in my account profile. Ironically, if they had been successful, they wouldn’t have gotten very much. But it was the fact that at least one person was pushing past normal boundaries and prying into information which is none of their business which lead me to delete my Photobucket account and remove my week old blog.

I will say again, this was not Master G’s fault. He did nothing wrong. I appreciate that he alerted me, and others, to one of the weaknesses of Photobucket. I also have no beef with anyone who searched Photobucket to see what other pictures I had uploaded there. That is the result of normal curiosity.

My beef is with the person who attempted to access personal information about me. I have reason to believe that person was both a regular visitor to my week old blog as well as this thread. To you I say, you should seek professional help for your unhealthy obsession with a complete stranger you know only as ZZUB. I also want to advise you that I’m not all that interesting. The most fascinating aspect of my personality is my unusual familiarity with inane trivia and my preternatural ability to seemingly fart on command. Not the stuff of the Algonquin Roundtable, I assure you.

Continuing on, whether this person was a lurker or, as I reasonably believe, a regular poster both here and on my week old blog, they have an unhealthy desire to know more about me. I fear that my otherwise reasonable efforts to protect my identity for the sake of my family’s well-being and the health of my practice has somehow had the opposite effect. Perhaps I have created a quest for some, at least one person, to find out who ZZUB really is.

Believe me when I tell you that such a quest is a colossal waste of time. There is no there there. I’m a fairly white bread kind of guy.

Knowing that every time I post either on this thread or my own blog I was only feeding the fire of someone’s unhealthy need to know more about me led me to the conclusion that it was best to kill my blog and not post here anymore. Since it was my intent to limit my time on the internet anyway, this only furthers that goal. I will continue to read trip reports, because I love them, and because the moderators have done an extraordinary thing in re-opening Mel’s Trip Report. I will also post there from time to time.

I just couldn’t leave here without saying goodbye or at least explaining why I won’t post here anymore and why I won’t go to the spice shop and why I felt compelled to shut down my week old blog.

To the majority of you who I have gotten to “know” through the Maelstrom, I continue to say, “though we’re strangers, still I love you. I love you more than your mask.” I also strongly encourage you to think more carefully about what you are posting here, there and everywhere. You simply don’t know everyone who’s on here or what their true intentions might be.

Preace the good times and the laughs.

You lumped me with Akronians, Pennsyltuckians and people west of Buffalo. I need more than an I adore you to offset that.

Now if you'll excuse me I have to get back at hacking Photobucket accounts.....

Well, I was feeling pretty yellow again this morning until I read Z's post.

I'm speechless.

I think we all kind of figured out that was what was going on but I guess we thought you'd come back around eventually. I have to admit I am extremely saddened by the fact that you, my friend, won't be around on the Maelstrom or in chat anymore but I understand your reasons. You've always made it abundantly clear that your privacy and your commitment to your family comes above all else and that is one of the things I think we have all admired about you.

So do what you feel you need to do ZZUB but just know that we love you. We love you more than your mask.

Thanks for the laughs. Hope to see you around.

Morning everyone!

I just got back from a shoe fitting for my oldest DD.
She is going to be a cheerleader. :cheer2:

Who knew cheerleaders needed so much 'equipment'? Why can't ONE of my kids pick a cheap sport?? I had to pay a small fortune to sign her up. The uniform is 'borrowed' from the team, she keeps it only for the season...I am responsible for the 'cheering' sneakers (apparently, they are SPECIAL sneakers), the lollipops (which are what I thought were called Bloomers...the underwear they wear under the skirts), some kind of turtleneck thing they wear UNDER the uniform that must be sewn with GOLD thread for what it cost, and of course, EVERYONE was buying the warm up suits and matching jackets...(she can't be the ONLY one without the warm up suit, right??)

So, a small fortune later, my child, who as of this moment, DOES NOT even know ONE cheer, has all the apparel needed to be a CHEERLEADER. :cheer2:

**DISCLAIMER: I have nothing against cheerleaders, just the ridiculous cost for sports, etc. for a 7 year old child.

Wow that is creepy-dee. I didn't know that about photobucket, so I just went and deleted a few that I thought were safe in other albums. While I was there I didn't see anything where you could look at people's profiles in any way, but then again maybe I just didn't know where to look? Dunno.

Sad... :-(

Well every now and then expect me to post the bat signal 'strommers, it's kinda like leaving a light on for Oz.

Zzub this is for you, and for all of us that are going to miss you...
