Hey friends!

Someone with some advice please help me!!!! DH and I were talking last night about the meet. It hit him yesterday that this could cause a potential problem if we don't handle this the right way. My DS7 is coming with me, and last night DH asked me how I approached telling him about you all. He does not want lil Frick to think it is o.k to make friends through the internet & then go to meet them. KWIM? We all know about the stories of freaks luring kids in to meeting them through the net. So, my question is, how do I handle this? How do I tell him that I know you all? I'm confuzzled and looking for a solution other than cancelling my trip. PM me if you have any words of wisdom to offer!!!!

HORSEY!!! I meant to tell you your lake trip sounds AWESOME!!! I hope you all have a safe and marvelous time!

NM...I know what you mean about our lake water feeling dirty....eeewww. We go out on Lake Lanier a lot. I tried wake boarding last year and I hate getting an enema (sp?) or a brain cleansing (you know when it goes full freaking force up your nose) with that water!

Frick, can you just tell DS that you belong to a group of people (or club?) who love Disney and talk from time to time to compare Disney stories and plans? You don't have to say anything about internet. I don't know how much detail DS will want, but at 7, and being a boy, I'd guess that the basic "general" picture might be good enough. If he pushes further, if you are not opposed to some little white lies (we talk on the phone? we have a newsletter?), you could probably think of something that keeps the "internet" out of it. Anyway, good thought. My boys definitely know I have internet friends. Hopefully, they are old enough that they understand the necessary precautions.....

Hey Frick!

My only suggestion is to maybe try to come to lunch with us. That way you'd meet us in person before the meet. After that we become "real" friends.
My DS8 (he just turned 8) would love it if he could be there, as he was asking if anyone his age would be lunching.

I also like what Ash said about the "club".

I am slow sometimes! So when I clicked on more or pics in the reply window before, it kept saying, "a pop-up window was blocked". It finally dawned on me that maybe my yahoo pop-up blocker was responsible, not the good old IT dept. And sure enough, I now have the rest of the smilies. Still picture impaired though... I might figure that out in the next 6 months or so.
