Not trying to be a debbie downer but what is up with all these updates, constructions and renovation? I mean, when I get there in February, is there going to be anything left? This is my first time planning to WDW and it's already making me nervous again.
I'm aware that construction is always going on, but is there a lot this year or just normal? I don't want it ruining my trip. I read on a blog that construction was everywhere. Um, everywhere?! :guilty::sad2::sad:

I sympathize. It doesn't appear to be a great time to go but hopefully they'll do something amazing.

i'm confused.
the only things scheduled for refurb in february are CRT and under the sea.

Maybe I can help list them:

The Hub at MK - Construction
Backlot Tour at DHS- Closed (no big loss)
American Idol at DHS- Closed
Legend of Jack Sparrow at DHS- Closed (again, no big loss)
Maelstrom at Epcot-Closed for Frozen (don't get me started!!)
Little Mermaid at MK-Closed for Remodel

and whatever CRT is (an acronym I can't figure out for once!?!?!)

I'm right there with you and this is definitely not a "normal" amount of construction/closures. At this point I'm wondering if there's going to be any of Hollywood Studios left by the time we get there in March. SO FAR they've announced the closure of the American Idol Experience, the Backlot tour, and Captain Jack Sparrow as well as the removal of the sorcerer's hat. The construction involved with the removal of the hat won't be that easy to hide. Then in EPCOT there will now be construction in Norway. In Magic Kingdom there is the hub construction and in Animal Kingdom you have the Avatarland construction. Then there is also the construction going on for Disney Springs right now. The thing that makes me sad is that these are just the rides that are being completely removed there will also be rides/attractions that will be closed for refurbishment while we are there.
For me personally my biggest issue is going to be Hollywood Studios. At this point I don't even want to visit HS at all. If it weren't for dd8's love of Sofia and Doc McStuffins we definitely would not be.

And the sorcerer hat is going to be removed! I never got to see it and it looks cool!

The list better not get any longer! I'm going crazy! :scared:

I know, I've been reading about DHS, seems like a major construction!
I guess we will be spending more of our days in Magic Kingdom if the list keeps growing.

This is why are next large trip will probably be Fall of 2017, we are local so we will still pop in but not no 7-10 day GF stays till the end of 2017 I am thinking. Want Disney Springs and some of the other projects completed, maybe even get lucky and have Pandora actually open.

It seems I can never make a trip there without running into some kind of construction, so that part doesn't really bother me. With DHS, it's sort of odd that they've announced all these closures, but we've only heard rumors of things to come...nothing concrete. Walls up is good to me, means they're actually building something. I'll certainly feel more relaxed about DHS once the official word comes and I see walls up.....unless somehow it's all Frozen-ified, then I'll lose my mind.

With DHS and over half the park now blacked out and only a few rides to do, surely Disney have to do something in regards to the day ticket prices? or i guess people just won't go.

Im all about these huge expansions and my lord, Hollywood Studios needs a massive rehab but the TON of closures they've announced shows MASSIVE expansion and not a lot left except up TOT area.

Ticket prices won't change this is disney

I thought that would be the case.

I really hope Muppets don't get the chop. Least move them to over by Playhouse Disney Area?

Your totally not alone on this....all the destruction of the classics is disgusting. Disney seems to have fallen into the modern trap that only the trendy is interesting:sad2:. I removed the extra days tickets from our package, and our family of six will not be spending anytime in DHS on our upcoming trip in Feb. Too bad.....tradition used to mean something.:confused3

While I could never see them lowering ticket prices, it seems like they desperately need to do something in the interim to make the park work at all. My personal preference would be some sort of Villains entertainment and character meet and greet. With the current lineup it would be hard to justify a full ticket. Hopefully they get going on new attractions very quickly!

Maybe expanding Star Wars Weekends to Star Wars Summer? I can't think of anything but additional character meet and greets, which would be great if they did a summer of Star Wars/Villians/and Forgotten friends.

The walls around the hub didn't bother me that much in September. Maybe because we go twice a year and like to see the progress. We watched 7 DMT be built from start to finish while riding Dumbo... I wonder where you can see them working on the hub... Maybe Astro Orbiter?!?

Last time we were there, you could see it from the quick service terrace in Tomorrowland.
