Just did the test on the new SE and it worked (as in, I got to the screen that says we are not in the park without the app crashing). Insane how fast it goes though! I tried again after through the first screen the first time (only about 15 seconds after the clock hit 10am) and all groups were gone.
That's great news! It is insane how fast it goes. (January was tough, but this seems like it's gonna be much harder.)

Adult DD did try with her old SE today and no dice, totally wouldn't work. DD13 got through on my Android. DH missed it - but I suspect his fingers are too slow ;)

I tried a practice today at 10:00 am with an old LG phone running Android 7. As a lone traveler, I have no issues with adding people and that's probably why I made it to the "Not so fast" screen without any problem. One thing I noticed is that on my first try, the "Join" button wasn't there even though my phone's time display had advanced to 10:00 am. I had to do a pull-down refresh and then I was able to move forward. It reminded me of last January when I was coordinating my join efforts with the time as provided by time.gov, but now I'm not sure how closely Disney's time matches the "official" time. :scratchin

I can tell you 100% that the queue opens with inconsistent timing. I've seen it open a second early, and I've seen it open 15 seconds late. 1 second after the hour is most common. It's almost never before that.

Got boarding group 4 today while in load queue for MMRR, boarding group called while on ride, after ride immediately got over to Galaxy Edge, got in line. Currently inside in line but ride is down approaching an hour wait from when I cleared CM checking boarding group.

I know this is a non spoiler thread so if you can't explain it to me here that's fine, but why on earth is this ride down so constantly? I haven't seen it yet, but I'm just kind of annoyed with how often it seems to be broken instead of working. This whole setup is just completely frustrating. I hope we get to go on Saturday, but I guess I'll be more surprised if we get to go rather than if we don't. Seems like a crazy way to run things.

There are multiple elements and multiple ride systems . It has never worked close to efficiency since they opened. Now worse is the capacity restraint coupled with shorter hours

This. The best I can say here is there is a ton of technical choreography. Once you ride it, you'll know exactly why it would take FOREVER to line things all back up.

Another tip I wanted to share from my pre-COVID trip was, if you get in the queue and it breaks, we were able to ask for our return FP to be set for a different day that we would be back at HS. Then, we went right at park open to minimize our chances of problems. If they'll do that (they wouldn't give us a hopper or 1 day ticket or anything - so I'd imagine you'd have to have a valid reservation) then you may have a more productive/fun day without the stress.

It really seems having BG 1 is your best bet. If anyone would like some luck with that, feel free to PM me.

Hi I have a question about multiple party members trying to get a boarding group (I am sure this was answered somewhere earlier on this thread but can't find where).

Does it matter if the other party members have their own MDE account or are just using my account? One of the other party members is my teenage (13) son, so I think he will have to be logged in to my account since I assume that children can't have their own account. But my wife could set up her own account, or she could use mine. Does it make any difference? TIA

I don't believe it makes any difference.
Did anyone notice that the 2pm queue today didn't open until 9 seconds after 2:00?

I tried another test run for the 2:00 pm today. Gone in maybe 10-15 seconds, tops. Unsettling.

I did notice it was a bit off. To the best of my recollection, this did not happen back in January when the queue activation was very close to the time as given at time.gov. Oh well.
