Are you sure that HS opens at 8 am for your trip? I’m going the week leading up to Easter so I’ve been keeping a close eye on the hours. As of now, the official opening time is 9 am and I’m just waiting for them to move up the opening to 8 am. I’d love it if it would be pushed to 7 but I’ll take 8 to start.

FWIW, I too will be heading to SDD at RD and my plan is to be there by 6:30 for an 8 am open.

You are right! 9am opening still! Still debating whether to just try boarding group and come later at night to wait for SDD. I have rope dropped every park and last year (pre- Star Wars) it was the most stressful and the people around me weren’t the most happiest people.

Today I updated the MDE app on my iPad and tried a test. I clicked on My Status right at 8 and did not get a red button. So, I clicked on My Status but, unlike when I use my iPhone (on which I haven’t updated the app) the button was not active on that screen either. One refresh didn’t work so I had to close and restart the app to get the red BG button.

I know a lot of people had problems when the MDE update first came out in mid February. Have those problems been resolved?

I also did not ever get the button to go red today as well after several tries. Finally, I was only able to get it through My Status, around 8:01:01, and then it was already at backup.

I pretty much repeated the same steps as yesterday, where I did not click on Find Out More, till 8:00:01 and found the button to be red after a refresh that happens as usual. I have been screen recording the process since yesterday so I can review the steps and time it is taking, with the atomic clock widget.

Fwiw, I had to restart the app too. First time I've had so many problems like I did this morning.

Either it was good they kept calling BGs so late, or the 2-4pm downtime really set them back on wherever they drew the cutoff line today.

Oh yeah, RD is stressful for everyone. But my personal feeling is that SDD will not be better standby later in the day. If I need to be there at RD for getting a BG anyway, I’ll take a shot at RDing something as I know the standby line for every ride will be ridiculous that week. ( Tangent over)

Something weird happened on mine today. I got BG 66 (I know I know lol), and on the screen it said BG 71 and up are backups. Now I check again and it said 61 and up. And it told me when I got mine that I WASN'T joining a backup group.

It is available if you're in the park and have a boarding group.

OK. Just tried it at 8:00am. I selected just me and my son of the five people that will be in the park later in the day 3/28. I get the message:

"Is Everyone in the Park?"
"Each member of your party needs to be in the park. To continue, remove these Guests"

The guests are me and my son. Below our names it says "Remove Guest from Party"

Should I have selected all five of the party that will be there on 3/28?

Tried again at 8:07 with all five selected and got the same message but for all five.

Your glitch this morning aside, what is your plan for March 28th? Are you and your son going to HS that morning to get a BG for the ride but then the other three people will be joining you later in the day? In that case, you should only be selecting the two people who have “tapped into” the park that morning. You would not be able to get a BG for the other three that are joining you later in the day. (Just a little confused about what you’re asking so wanted to clarify.)

Some people never get the red Join a Boarding Group button right away. My theory is it has to do with the age of your phone and the operating system you’re on. You should be able to go via the My Status route. You have a few more days to practice and figure out what method works for you. Figure that out and stick with that method. There is not a one size fits all methodology.

I have an iPhone XRS, and today my app never kicked over... I had to force close and open again. it was very stressful lol. and I never got the back up boarding group messages even when they were giving out back ups until way after.

Maybe im practicing too much!!!

Hi - since you’re doing that I would love to know how long a normal and successful process is taking you. I posted a question on this today. It takes me about 13 seconds from home on my iphone 6s on data to get to Not So Fast.

I have a galaxy note 8, I usually only pick for myself. I open the app one minute before opening time and at opening hit find out more, the entire thing takes me 5 seconds, on wifi
I've been in the park and on data it lags a bit but no more than 10 seconds

13 would be about right for me. That‘s clicking the AT AT right at 8:00:00 and then MY Status (because I never get the red button even if I wait a few seconds). Most of the time is waiting for the 3 screens to load.

I'm using an IPhone 7 and doing it in about 5 seconds as well and that includes removing my 1 year old who doesn't have a ticket

13.59 seconds was exact time I noted from Find out More, Join.., selection of my party (2 out of 4), Checking boarding group spinner.., to the screen with the header, 'Is Everyone in the Park?'
