Guys, I still need the best way to do this... after many practices I cant get the "at at screen" to turn red. and today when I clicked my status it never kicked over. Total fail practice today.

OK. Just tried it at 8:00am. I selected just me and my son of the five people that will be in the park later in the day 3/28. I get the message:

"Is Everyone in the Park?"
"Each member of your party needs to be in the park. To continue, remove these Guests"

The guests are me and my son. Below our names it says "Remove Guest from Party"

Should I have selected all five of the party that will be there on 3/28?

Tried again at 8:07 with all five selected and got the same message but for all five.

What device are you using?

in my experience: kill the app well before 8.wait a few minutes then reopen it but do NOT hit find out more. Watch the clock. Once it turns 8, BUT NOT BEFORE, hit find out more. This works most consistently for me to get a red button.

You aren't there so that is as far as your can go in the process for practice.

I am going in April and read these posts daily to try to figure out the best way to maximize my HS day. We will have only one day. As of now, it is an 8am opening which I imagine will become a 7 am opening since I am going during Easter break and MMRR will also be open.

Are you sure that HS opens at 8 am for your trip? I’m going the week leading up to Easter so I’ve been keeping a close eye on the hours. As of now, the official opening time is 9 am and I’m just waiting for them to move up the opening to 8 am. I’d love it if it would be pushed to 7 but I’ll take 8 to start.

FWIW, I too will be heading to SDD at RD and my plan is to be there by 6:30 for an 8 am open.

Another thing that works for some people is to time how long it takes for the app to boot up after you close it completely. If you have a newer phone and it only takes 5 seconds or, click the app to open it those 5 seconds before 8. A lot of people have reported getting red join boarding group buttons right away that way. If you have a slower phone or the app doesn't reliably open in a short period of time that might not be a good option for you.

How many seconds is it taking folks to secure BGs in practice (or in the park) when all is working normally? Is this something people are getting withing 5 seconds on newer phones?

I finally timed my normal process today and it seems to be that if I hit Find out more at 8:00:02, I do not get to Not so fast until 8:00:15. Im on an iphone 6S, tmobile with 2 bars at home practicing.

On the infamous Glitch Day I had a “normal process” with no delays/errors and got BG 41 from home. So Im assuming I was in the 13sec range like today. I see the spinny circle while it processes my selections for a short bit, but have nothing to compare to. Im asking because I want to know if my phone is really slow compared to others since it is so old. Im already debating a new iphone purchase. Wouldn’t mind another excuse to get the 11Pro!

Some people never get the red Join a Boarding Group button right away. My theory is it has to do with the age of your phone and the operating system you’re on. You should be able to go via the My Status route. You have a few more days to practice and figure out what method works for you. Figure that out and stick with that method. There is not a one size fits all methodology.
