I would always suggest asking at the RotR queue entrance, even if you are late. I have often missed my time due to ADRs and they have easily accommodated me. Honestly, I think as long as you have a BG, they are very flexible about time. The only time I had to choose was at the very end of the day. My BG was called as my ADR came up, and there wasn't time to do both. They told me I would have to choose. (I chose Sci Fi as I had never been there and had rode RotR multiple times that trip. Still, it was sad to have been called but I could not ride.)
Just to clarify, it is not recommended that you miss your boarding time. Disney is under no obligation to allow you to ride if a BG return time is missed.

Mine screen had just me and said I did not have a park pass.... Tomorrow's practice I will read it better 😉
Sounds like you did it right and would have been successful had you had a park pass reservation for today. The screen with that message is where a boarding group number would show up if you did have the reservation.

My first failed practice just now at 1:00 - I couldn’t have hit those buttons any faster so that makes the reality set in that even when done perfectly you don’t always get it. We only have one park day (our last one) designated to HS so now I’m even more nervous about that! (We only have 4 days and want one day for each park - no park hoppers).
I have noticed that the screen where the family & friends list comes up takes a bit to come up on my phone (it always has but it has not caused me to fail before). Do most people’s take a little bit before it pops up? Is there a way to speed it up?

I hit the JOIN on the first screen constantly until the second screen loaded and then it immediately started loading the third screen, at which time I started hitting the LOCATION of the join button on the third screen.

Failed 1PM practice today also. Final screen took a long time to load. Going to try the method of jamming the place I know the bar is going to come up on that final screen. Can't hurt to try while practicing!!

Do you have a large list of Friends and Family?

This is from yesterday, just a few pages back:
before 7am I would view my profile friends and family list hoping it would help cache my list to load the third screen faster. I’m not sure if it really helped but I got low BGs last week. It’s worth a shot.

Hey all. We booked DHS for Friday, 6 tickets with reservations, in the event we didn’t get into ROTR today.

We booked the second day at DHS in the hopes we could switch to Epcot if we did get onto ROTR today.

Unfortunately, i can’t figure out how to switch my reservations to Epcot, and we were able to do it all at DHS today including ROTR.

Anybody I’ve any luck making a switch when reservations are “sold out”?

Unfortunately, there isn’t a “change reservation” option. You have to cancel the park pass reservations you have and then make new ones, which is very risky this week. If you decide to try it, I would try one person at a time. If you aren’t able to pick up an Epcot reservation pretty quickly, I would try to pick the DHS pass back up and then try again later. That said, as many other people are also looking for these park pass reservations this week, your DHS pass could be gone by the time you try to pick it back up. If I were in your position, I’d find something else to do that morning (if you’re really not interested in going back to DHS), and hop to Epcot at 2.

As beesly says above, you have to cancel the park passes you have in order to try to reserve a different park. With passes booked up, you’d risk losing and not have any. So if you decide to keep the DHS passes but do something else in the morning, just be sure to go to DHS first, tap in, then turn around and exit and walk/boat/Skyliner to Epcot. If you haven’t tapped in to DHS at all, you won’t be allowed to hop.

Ya, we don’t have hoppers. Pondering the upgrade, but it’s pretty freaking spendy.
If it wasn’t so expensive I’d try to do ROTR again then hop to Epcot.

A very good point that I forgot to mention! Thanks for adding.

In that case, if you really want to try to change it, I would try rebooking your party one person at a time. Just know you could end up with only some of your party able to go to Epcot while the others go back to DHS, or someone could end up with no park pass at all. Since you’re there now, you could possibly also try going to Guest Relations to see if there’s any chance they could switch the park for you. The worst that could happen is they’ll say no (which I think is likely since the calendar doesn’t show availability in any guest category that day, but if you don’t ask you’ll never know).

I’m sorry but this suggestion is very risky as many are saying they cannot get even 1 registration right now.

If it were me I would keep what I have so that you can go to a park as there is no guarantee if you drop a reservation snd then can’t get something else that the one you drop will be available to pick back up.

I 100% agree, which is why I said it is very risky and that I would not do it if I were in their position. I was just offering a suggestion in the event that they are absolutely set on trying.

We did two days at DHS in December - got BGs both days, but our kids and grandkids also liked being able to ride Slinky Dog, Tower and RnR more times too! Plus, one of the effects in RotR that wasn’t working the first day (and my family didn’t miss) was working the second day, so it was different!

Paying it forward report.
At 1255 I met the Johnson family from Ann Arbor MI. They had 2 adorable sons who had yet to ride ROTR. I noticed only mom holding her phone.
I ran up, used sanitizer in front of them and asked dad for his phone.
Yup, I scored them the BG.
Those kids let out the most amazing yell I have ever heard, mom started crying and the dad high fived my husband. We totally broke covid rules with hugs, but hey I am a nurse and vaccinated.
Just wanted to share, consider stuff like this everyone. It feels amazing to make someone's day.

Quick opinion question—going down today, don’t expect to be able to make to park until 12:30. Should I try for 7a hoping to get later BG, or wait until the 1p in fear of losing our chance if got a really early BG at 7a trial?
