12 appeared to be the lowest, 119 is the start of back ups.

Any sense of how the 8:00 a.m. opening on January 19 (MLK Jr Day weekend) might work? Does 7:00 a.m. sound like a reasonable time to queue up? I will be driving and want to maximize my chances of being inside the park by the time BGs open.

It appears all parks are at lower attendance today than normal Christmas days or at-least were before 1pm. For sure it is way lower than last year. MK had started its staged closings at 11am last year and hasn’t reached that point so far today and doesn’t look like it will at this point. AK had EMH this morning and was fairly low until about 1pm.

HS was busier yesterday. AK was busier on the 23rd.

Magic Kingdom got to phased closing by 11am last year and aren’t expected to quite get there today.

The crowds are being better dispersed this year because DHS is a better park with SWGE. Once Epcot is finally fixed and it’s new rides open the crowds will be spread even more.

Just going off the CMs. Multiple have commented on the crowds being lower and more dispersed.

Speaking from personal experience last Christmas and this Christmas AK was less busy today than last year. Could be because of EMH happening this year on Xmas vs normal last year but it was definitely lower today than last year.

I think crowds are probably better dispersed this year and I don’t know if the holiday being on a Wednesday affects travel plans or not.

HS was way better today (everywhere) than on Monday 12/23. Alien saucers was never more than 25 minutes, star tours standby was around 30-35 around 1pm. It was noticeably easier to walk around.

Got BG 63. The people next to us got 14. DH’s iPhone X on ATT LTE beat my iPhone 8 on Verizon LTE. Haven’t been able to get on in park WiFi.

last time we were BG 50 when the people next to us were 16. Moral of the story - stand next to us if you want an early BG.

Is the consensus to simply turn wi-fi off and try using LTE to secure a BG? I’ll be trying this for the first time on Sunday and am just trying to make sure I know what I’m doing!

My sense is that Disney will adjust the opening hour back to 7. Keep tabs on it, as well as any possible procedure changes.

If nothing changes, 7 is reasonable, maybe even a tad earlier than needed if you don’t plan to RD SDD or MFSR.

I’d read on the earlier thread that some people were doing better with LTE than WiFi. I have found the WiFi in the parks to be generally spottier this time than in the past, possibly because there are just so many people here.

That's interesting, as they are boarding groups 161 - 165 at 8:22pm, and the park is open for another hour and a half. I wonder if they'll start calling backup groups again.

And at 8:35pm, the boarding groups are all gone from the app. I wonder if anyone in the park could tell us what they're doing for the next hour and a half?

The BG window went from about 155-165 then widened to 145-165 then back to 160-165. The CM were adamant that BG above 165 weren’t riding tonight, with 3 hours left before park closing.

I wonder if the ride broke down or they need more time this evening to do maintenance with the 6am opening tomorrow.
