Who needs Evian when you can have this? :goodvibes

From the above website...

"But, soon, water will be flowing back into the lagoon as part of a carefully planned environmental effort and the centerpiece of Paradise Pier will be reflecting the lights of Mickey’s Fun Wheel and California Screamin’. The lagoon will fill at a steady pace, and should be more than halfway full in about three days.

It’s actually a really interesting environmental story, and the Disneyland Resort was recently honored with the state of California’s highest environmental award for its efforts. To drain the lagoon, we worked with the Orange County Water District to send the water through its state-of-the-art Ground Water Replenishment System instead of releasing the water to the ocean through storm drains. After an extensive purification process, the water was stored in Orange County’s underground water basin and contributed to the County’s overall water reserves. Later this month, the lagoon will be filled with clean water from the aquifer.

“World of Color” makes it’s flashy splashy debut in Spring 2010. You can check out some cool renderings and video at www.DisneysCaliforniaAdventure.com."

Kudos to Disney for making a good environmental choice.

Edited to add: Blech - my husband was just reminding me that the ducks pooped in the water. (Can I say 'pooped' on these boards?) LOL! At least when water is treated, it is treated until it's clean and safe.

It doesnt matter anyways. OC water system is all recycled water. Everything that comes out anywhere is recycled water, ie showering, drinking fountain, the faucet, etc.

at first, its does sound disgusting but meh, it its clear, its good. :)

The water in the Disneyland area tastes good, I find. It's not heavily chlorinated the way some treated water can be. Thanks for sharing the info., Albort, it's interesting to know. :)

I think the water in the OC tastes horrible. I know it's very very clean (DBF's company has run samples of water for DLR to test for impurities) but still, it tasted yucky!

I don't care much for it either. We always use bottled water even in the hotel. I like our water up here.

I think the water there tastes fine, but stinks SO bad it's hard for me to drink.

LOL! I think it is so very funny that people on a whole do not consider where their water comes from. They really take it for granted. From Riverside down into the south land of California, water rights are a premium. It has been "toilet to faucet" for a very long time. The EPA standards are so strict that it is of a better quality that any spring water tested. :tink:

Yes, we know, there are HUGE signs all the way down I5 from Nor Cal to So Cal stating this very fact....unfortunately we send most of our water down to So Cal already so there is no other choice really......but the farmers still put the signs up and complain about it. It's a bit annoying as a Nor Cal resident who deals with drought and higher water prices so So Cal can have most of our water. I don't begrudge the water we send, but I don't appreciate the attitude, and yes, we've even been given that attitude from people in So Cal. "Oh so you're one of those Nor Cal people who sends us their toilet water" ummmmm we drink it too Thank You very much. :) Now I know it's not all So Cal residents who feel that way so please don't take offense.....:) And yes, I also know it's cleaner then most spring water, DBF is a project manager for an environmental lab who tests samples like that. :)

That's my vent of the day for the drive from my house to the Grapevine! LOL :)

I think the water down there tastes horrible, it reminds me of Arrowhead bottled water (which has a distinct taste). Here in Washington, our water tastes a lot like Aquafina or Dasani, so thats what I compare it to. I cant drink the water down there unless its really cold so I dont notice the taste. :sad2:
