Re-using the reusable mugs??

Forgive me if this has been asked... but I've been on this board for months now and I have yet to find a search box to search the threads??

Here's what I'm wondering...

We were in WDW in February and literally got there right as they were switching out the old mugs (light blue w/ castle pic) to the new mugs (mickeys face on yellow, red or black)... anyway... we got the new mugs. I asked if they do new ones all the time... he said no, they had the light blue ones for like two years and these were replacing them.

Okay, so assuming this mug is still the mug of choice when we get there... can we use them again?

We purchased the DDP the first time, but had the standard plan, so we paid for them separately. It is my understanding that with the FREE DDP, it would be the same situation... and they wouldn't be included.

So do I A.) have to purchase new mugs for everyone or B.) do you think I can re-use these?

Anybody had to do this yet?

You're right. Mugs aren't included with the basic dining plan.
Technically, you are not allowed to reuse the mugs after your initial stay. I will say that I've never noticed any policing at the beverage islands. I've seen people filling thermoses and 2 liter bottles.

No, the mugs they sell now cannot be reused. Years ago the mugs were lifetime, but sadly not anymore

As WDW says specifically at their mug stations that the mugs are not supposed to be re-used on a later trip, closing this thread.
