Re-thinking my resort decision

We're headed back on Dec. 12th. It'll be dh, my two girls (7, 2) and me. This will be our first trip with just the immediate family.

I've got a reserveation for a Garden Deluxe room at CR. We've always been attracted to CR because of the monorail, and the resort just sort of fits us. I have been pretty settled on this decision for a while, but suddently, I'm having some second thoughts.

1. We loved BWV as well, and with renting points, it could be cheaper as well give us more space. BUT we would not have the convenience of being so close to MK which is our favorite park, and with a little one who will still be napping, it would be nice to be so close.

2. If we do stay at CR, should we be going all out with a Tower room? Knowing where the deluxe wing rooms are, I know we aren't too far from the main building, but I wouldn't want to regret not staying in the tower if it's absolutely worth it.

Weigh in if you will!

The deluxe wing room will be a little larger than the standard tower room, if you like the extra space. The main benefit you get from the tower is a balcony and (possibly) a view of the MK. I actually prefer the wing rooms myself. The decor of the rooms is the same whether it's tower or wing. The deluxe rooms are close to the tower, and they are very close to the pool.

If the price difference for an MK view tower room and your deluxe wing room were small, I would probably pick the tower room. You would have a balcony to sit out on if the kids go to sleep early or take a nap. If the price difference is large (and the wing is the cheaper option) I would stick with the wing room.

I stayed at the CR in January (solo/friends trip). I had an MK view room, it was wonderful! I literally fell asleep with a view of the castle. :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: And I watched the P&PP fireworks from my balcony, so cool!

It was also nice being so close to the Monorail entrance. I had a room on the 8th floor, close to the middle (where the elevators are) but slightly closer to MK. It was great!

Oh and the walkway to MK was great in the mornings (and taking the Monorail back in the evernings since it's the first stop). So convenient.

Good luck deciding. :)

We have stayed @ CR 3 times, and each was in the Garden Wing.
(this was BEFORE the remodeling of the rooms)
We just loved it! It was quite and peaceful and we had a great view of the boat parade at night. The room (although it probably wasn't) seemed bigger than the other resorts.
We did not find the extra couple of minute walk to be an issue, even with sleeping babies in our arms coming home at night.
The experience to be there around the Holiday Season is tremendous.
I would urge you to stick with your original impulse. You won't regret it!

:)

P.S. And be sure to visit the Calf. grill @ the top of the CR if you haven't already had the opportunity.:woohoo:
