? re:Retractable Sharpie's for autographs ...

I mistakenly picked up the "ultra fine" tip retractable sharpies, will they work or should I take them back and get the regular tipped ones?? TIA, Patty

You might want to consider a slightly thicker marker than even the regular sharpie, as I find that the characters have trouble with small diameter pens for autograph books.

Those retractable Sharpies tend to be a little thicker in diameter than the regular Sharpie pens. I haven't seen the ultra fine tipped retractables, but if they are the same size (barrel wise) as the others, the pen itself should be fine. Now, as for the tip itself...depends on what you are having autographed. If you're using an autograph book, I'd say you'd be fine. If it's a baseball cap, t-shirt, or other fabric, I'd go with the thicker tip.

OMG, I did the same thing the other day. I ran to Wal-Mart just for that pen to be OFFICIALLY done packing and buying... I get home, open the package and click it just once before putting it in the bag (cause you know its just so fun to click those pens!!!!) and its an ULTRA fine one.... WHAT??? They make fat pens retractable with an ultra-fine tip????
Whatever, I went back and bough another... just too funny I wasn't the only one!
