My upcoming stay at the Polynesian Villas is approaching, and although I've never stayed there before, my #1 priority is being able to see the Electric Water Pagent. There were no Lake View studios available so I have a standard view. The CM put as my request, "would like a room where she might see EWP or close to where she could go outside to see it." Assuming my request is fulfilled, any ideas where I might be? Or is it even a realistic request? I don't know the Polynesian at all, and I'm so excited to stay there!

Tokelau north end is the only possibility. It’s only a room or two that might see that so I wouldn’t count on it. Even if you can see from your room you should be able to from the upper stairway at that end. Or just go down the walkway towards the main pool.

And you can go outside from any DVC unit to see it, so that request a s entered by the CM is kinda poo.

Like, in Moorea Standard, out door, walk to beach. tokelau poolside, out door, walk to beach. Pago Pago... Well, you get the idea

There are maybe 6 Standard units with good Lagoon views and even they will have a kinda weird angle on EWP.

I agree that the stairway on the north end of Tokelau makes a good viewing platform. It actually is a stairway PLUS a large deck made specifically for viewing. You come out of Tokelau and turn left to go down the stairs or straight ahead to the deck area. Plenty of room for people. Maybe bring a chair. And you will almost certainly want to plan on bug spray.

Another viable option that sometimes works is to request a room at Tokelau and specify you want a room at the far North end, and on the west side (the pool side) of the building. Then you can probably watch it from your balcony. 3rd floor would also be nice to have. I believe you might also be able to see it from the East side of Tokelau, but views from either west side or east side are poor, because you are exactly sideways to the Magic Kingdom. If Tokelau were an arrow, it points almost exactly at the Magic Kingdom, just a few degrees to the right of the Magic Kingdom

You actually end up seeing exactly what the cast member has noted down when you add on the dining plan - you get resent a confirmation which includes this note. In my experience, cast members will tell you've they made a note, but end up actually writing in one of the standard options that you can self select. For example, I requested a 3rd floor and the cast member actually wrote "high floor", which is exactly one of the drop downs for online check-in.

That stairway (there’s basically a 3rd floor deck at the top) may have one of the best views from the entire resort. It’s too bad a few rooms don’t get that view.
