If you are not staying on property and are going to just eat at say Chef Mickey's, do you have to pay to park?

Only if you use Valet parking. Tell the attendant that you are going to the Contemp for dinner.

Two stops.

1. At toll plaza, use booth third from the right*. tell attendant you are going to the Contemporary for dinner. Bear right at the big fork.

2. At the resort gate, tell attendant you are having dinner. He will usually give you a three hour parking pass if you don't want valet parking.

* Rightmost booth is for buses. When second from right is not marked "cast members only" you can use it.

AFAIK self parking for resort dinner guests is free. If the toll taker gives you a hassle, try asking to make a U-turn. He will probably wave you through in the direction of the Contemporary. Simpler: say "Thanks" and drive on.
