Does anyone have any details about re-hitching at "The Land". Any info would be appreciated.
Thanx.

You might get better responses if you post this on the Disney Restaurants Board. But I will tell you what I know, since I will be planning on doing it when we go in Oct. If you eat in The Garden Grille at the Land attraction, and request the Re-hitching Ceremony, they will perform a little ceremony and you will kiss to 100, counting by one until 10 then counting by tens until 100, some people said they got good crowd participation, and others said all they recieved was the little certificate that they give you, I guess it just depends on the time you go, and what kind of mood your server is in. I have heard some people say they recieved a small cake for free but only during the lunch or dinner, and some have done re-hitching during the ice cream social, which is supposedly not offered during this anymore, and if you call Disney Dining, they will have no idea what you are talking about, but ask them to put it on your ress anyway and remind the person at the podium. Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip

Here is the Tel. # to the Garden Grille at the Land restaurant. I just called them, very friendly and helpful. They will tell you everything that you want to know.

When my DH and I were on our honeymoon in Oct 2000, we were surprised with the re-hitchin' ceremony (we think a cm at our resort put a note on our priority seating). We went for breakfast. As I recall, after we finished our meal, our server came by with Chip, Dale, and Mickey and brought us a "weddin" cake (a very yummy little cake that they kindly packed up for us, since it was only about 10:00 in the morning). We did the traditional "cut the cake and present each other with a slice." We then had to kiss to 100-- while there really wasn't anyone else seated in our area, but Chip and Dale made sure to liven it up :) We then received our certificate (happily signed in crayon) that now actually resides with our wedding album (we call it the "real" certificate ;))

It certainly was quite a magical moment for us!

Thank you both, that is really helpful. Planning on surprising DH with it on anniversary.

I did this as a surprise for my DW a couple of years ago for our 10 year anniversary. It wasn't very memorable. The characters didn't come back around for the ceremony and our waitress wasn't very enthusiastic. After having read all about other people's experiences with it, I thought it'd be a neat surprise. Instead, it ended being kind of a dud. Hopefully ours was the exception and you'll have a great time.

I did this a few weeks ago during the Ice
Cream Social and agree with the previous poster - it was a dud. Our server didn't speak English very well and couldn't understand our names -( Donna and Dale - not that difficult). We were on the outside booths so only the table right next to us could see what was going on. They did make a cute little bouquet out of paper towels for my DD4 and a largeron for me to hold. We got some type of chocolate pudding dessert - I think it was supposed to be dirt cake because it had gummy worms coming out of it. None of the characters attended. I'm glad we did it - doesn't cost anything and you get a cute certificate but I was a little dissappointed. I did request it when making my PS and I saw it notated by my name when I checked in at the podium but I also checked with the woman signing me in when she didn'tsay anything or write it on my slip of paper they give the servers- so she then wrote it at the top of that paper. so, make sure you request it at the podium as well as with your PS.

We just did this Saturday night. I forget the lady who came to the table but she came over with Dale after we were done eating dinner and announced to everyone around us we were celebrating our 10th anniversary.

Then she made us kiss while they counted from 1 to 100 (in 10s!)...gave us a certificate and a cake. It was cute.

There are some other posts on the restaurant board about their experiences.

Thanks everyone, I think I'll try it for dinner, it sounds fun to me!
