Here's my scenario-I want to make a ressie for November 2010 at my home resort, so I can call in January 2010, right? I have an August use year, and the points coming in August 2010 aren't enough to cover my entire ressie. So can I borrow from my August 2011 use year? It's January 2010 when I'm trying to borrow, a year and a half ahead. However, the actual ressie is within a year of the use year I want to borrow from. Does this make sense? Can I do this? Must I be within my use year when I borrow from the next use year or does the date of the ressie have to fall within a year of when I'm borrowing from. I hope this ? is making sense.

Your stay is in your 2010 use year. You can used banked 2009, current 2010, borrowed 2011. Date of reservation does not come into the equation. You can always borrow from the use year following the use year that the stay falls into. There is never a waiting period.

As stated by the PP, the reservation is made by check in date, not useyear. For a November stay, you can reserve the previous December (11 months from check in). You would bank any leftover '09 points and use those plus current '10 points as well as '11 points. Points are borrowed at the time the reservation is made.

Call in DECEMBER 2009 for a reservation for Novermber 2010 at your

Home Resort: 11 months before check-in date you want in November 2010 (which is utilizing your Home Resort booking advantage)

( ie, if you want to check-in on Nov. 15 2010 you'd call on Dec. 15 2009 )

You do not need to wait until January 2010 just because the reservation falls within 2010 "Calendar Year". You may always call MS 11 months before a check-in date you want at your Home Resort
(7 months or less before check-in date for any other DVC resort you may want to reserve)

Your August Use Year is from August 1 - July 31. This is what is referenced when making DVC

reservations. And As pps have stated here

it's easy to think in terms of typical "calendar year" but you have to think within your

Use Year to determine what allotments of points are available to cover a reservation.
