We are going to WDW in Feb '08 we will be there from the 7-14. My question is do I really need ADR for then? Are the restaurants going to be that busy? Just wondering as our 6 months is coming up soon and I want to make them if I need to when the time comes. Thanks for any help you DISsers can give me.

Why not go ahead and make some of the harder to get ADRs when the window opens. Only a few have a pre-paid fee or cancellation fee, and both are refundable if you cancel in the required window. You can always cancel if you decide you don't want them. Better to have something, than wish you had something.

Just an FYI. I would suggest that you make ADR for that week.... that coincides with some of the school vacations.

And I would also agree with the other poster... it is better to have the ADR... than to WISH you had an ADR! You can always choose to cancel the ADRs.

We were at WDW Feb 1-8 '07 and needed ADRs. My husband thought that was crazy but was glad we had booked them in the end because most restaurants were not taking walk-ins. It may not be as busy as other times of the year but they staff accordingly. You may not need the 180 day lead time but I would definitely recommend ADRs especially at popular places like Le Cellier. You may want them too if that is getting closer to your President's Day holiday weekend as it starts to get busier then.

Thank-you so much. We've never been to WDW only DL and well you don't really need ADR for most of the restaurants there. At least not at the times we have gone. What are some good restaurants for a family with kids 5 & 7? We will be at the park for 6 days then we are doing the DCL for 3 nights.

We were at WDW February 7-15, 2007. We had ADRs for all our meals and I found that all restaurants were really busy during our stay. But I do not know whether they also accepted people without ADR. We did not book our trip until October last year, so got our ADRs then, too. We got everything we wanted at the time we wanted, including California Grill at a fireworks time. I later changed around our Boma ADR in mid January and it was no problem to move this to an earlier time.

So I would suggest to get the really exclusive ADRs now, but I think otherwise there is no need to make all of them 180 days out.

I'm along here, make them.

Too many times we have seen families turned away for not having ADRs, even during "slow" times.

Thank-you all for your help. Now just choosing the restaurant to make the ressies at. I still have almost 2 months to go so I got lots of time to research and plan.

We were there that time this past year and had reservations for Le Cellier (could only get lunch), Cape May breakfast (I did not need them as the place was empty), Cape May dinner (I needed them as the place was sold out), CP breakfast at 8 am ...def needed them, they were sold out.

I say go ahead and make them, it will make your life so much easier.
