RD AK no FOP

So let's say I get lucky w/ a FP for FOP and want to RD AK to his KS and EE. What time do I need to be at AK? It seems like they are letting people in to AK about 8:15-8:30 on a regular morning. But KS and EE don't open till 9? So we'd be held outside the land till exactly 9?
I'd like to do KS first and then let the kids ride EE a couple times. We did this last time we went (2 years ago) and the timing seemed to be good. Wondering what time the sweet spot is for RD now?

AFAIK, you'd get to "hold" at the entrances to the attraction(s) standby line.

I'd get to DAK entrance gates by 8:30-8:40-ish.
Then, saunter slowly over to Asia entrance and stroll back to EE.
Ride EE a couple of times, then head over to Africa and KS.
