RCI-where have you gone?

We are thinking about going somewhere else next year for vacation. We live near Disney and go about every 3 weeks. We would like to go somewhere different. We have 500 points. Have any of you gone anywhere (with RCI or concierge)that you would recommend? We are a family of 6 (3 teens, 10 yo, Mom and Dad). Thanks in advance for the help!

with RCI (trading another timeshare--but would be the same for DVC), we have gone to (and had a good time):
SMugglers Notch in VT in summer--great biking/hiking/fishing, kids' activities
Near Mt Hood, Oregon in summer--golf/fly fishing/hiking, glacier skiing in summer, sightseeing
HAwaii--fabulous
Hilton Head--great for fun/sun and fabulous bike trails all over the place--there are a number a good RCI timeshares here--we like Waterside the best of RCI places
Williamsburg--history, busch gardens--same rides as FL BG--but fun Europe theme, very good family week-long vacation--a number of nice RCI timeshares
Va Beach--make sure you check quality of resort--they vary.
Atlantic Beach, NC
Outer Banks, NC
Massanutten, VA--fun mountain vacation--check quality of resort--different sections have different ratings
Whistler, BC--flew to Seattle and drove to Vancouver for a few days, then drove to Whistler--very nice--but a week might be too long--on the other hand, Vancouver in the summer is fabulous--I would take a trade there for a week--so much to do and see.

Valdoro Mountain Lodge in Breckenridge, Co-- It's great in winter for skiing or in summer for outdoor sports/activities.

Have you checked out Palace Resorts? We own with them and DVC - they are definitely a wonderful company with several properties - all beautiful with their own niche. They are also all inclusive. We use them to trade into DVC when we need some extra weeks - I am finding 260 DVC points don't last very long each year You can check them out at www.palaceresorts.com which gives you more info than www.rci.com. Before our little guys (4 and 20 months), we were there 3 or 4 times a year - great properties and service!!

We don't regret taking advantage of the opportunities when we found them!

"Don't let it be forgot, that once there was a spot, for one brief shining moment that was known as Camelot.” ... or in my case, the glory days of travel auctions conducted through OnSale.com (later Egghead.com). Sadly, these sites no longer sell travel and similar replacements have yet to appear. SkyAuction sells travel -- but the deals aren't the same. I hope, someday, to see this particular Camelot return!

Recommendation, re: RCI Trades: Consider joining the Timeshare Users Group (TUG) for access to their database of resort reviews. I've found, in most cases, the reviews to be very helpful when researching which resorts I'd prefer/accept through RCI Exchanges.
