Hi everyone- I am reviewing this thread and thinking I may try to get into HHI the first week of August if possible.

We have HHI Disney resort booked the third week but just found out my dd will start school at the end of that week and Disney HHI is not available the first week- I did waitlist.

I cannot get the RCI resort destination link to work on the member website.

Which resort is the best to book on Hilton Head??

difficulty of trading from a RCI Resort into a DVC resort?

In Weeks, you need a unit with top-shelf trade power. Right now, there are no DVC resorts in Weeks inventory.

In Points, you just need enough Points---and it takes quite a few. I do not have Points, so I don't know if there is anything left or not.

Hi Dean- I was looking for August 9-16 which I guess is the second week. I called for a RCI trade and they only had a two bedroom at Coral Sands I believe. What else are you seeing out there?

I really want to stay at a Marriott resort. Any ideas on where to find rentals or trades for DVC points?? The Marriott resorts seem so much nicer than the RCI resorts.

I see 2 for that week for resorts on DVC's list but the Island links is a 3 BR unit. The top Marriott's are better IMO. You could look at the Timeshare Users group and redweeks, among other places, for rentals or exchanges. You might also be able to post on DIS, just read the rules as to the requirements. You should be able to get a rental that week for around $2K, or maybe even a little less, at one of the top 3 Marriott's.

I was wondering about the ease/difficulty of trading from a RCI Resort into a DVC resort? Has anyone tried this yet? What should I look out for?

I think it's really too early to know. With II it was simply having a resort who's quality rating was sufficient and being able to travel mostly shoulder and off season. With RCI it looks like the trade power of hte week involved is more important on the weeks side and planning far ahead plus shoulder or off season more on the points side.
