RCI MEMBERSHIP OUTSIDE OF DVC

Just wondering if anyone know if there is anything in our DVC membership rules and regulations that would prevent us, as DVC members, from paying the $99.00 per year RCI membership fees to join?

I want access to things like RCI last minute vacation specials. I understand as a member of DVC I can only trade through DVC for an RCI trade out. I just want access to the things we don't have access to on RCI's website through DVC RCI link.

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks,
Dee

I believe RCI will reject your membership application if you don't own an eligible timeshare. DVC isn't eligible for individual membership purposes.

I can tell you with absolutely certainty that a DVC member cannot use DVC to join RCI and they can't list DVC in their regular membership if they own and belong through other means. Even if you call RCI, many of the guides will not know that and let you go through the membership process but you'll get denied later. What you can do, is join independent exchange companies. Too bad for those who want to use DVC regularly as a possible exchange option but better for those who don't use it or might need it rarely.

okay, thanks Dean. I'm not really too worried about it. Just thought if it was possible I would, if not, no big deal.
I am curious though....wat other independent exchange companies do you refer too? You can PM me if needs be.

Thanks,
Diane

I'm sure I'll miss some but Dial an Exchange, San Francisco exchange, Trading Places Intl, Trading Places Maui, HI Timeshare exchange, Platinium Interchange and I guess one should include reweeks at this point. Donita's had joined up wtih DAE but I think they've separated themselves now. Also, some of the other points systems will allow deposists of non club resortss at times though that doesn't seem a good choice. Timesharing Today does a spread about once a year on comparion of Exchange companies. IMO these would tend to be better choices than RCi for most who want to do deposit first but for ANY such choice one needs to be willing to learn the system before proceeding, something most DVC members in general seem to be reluctant to do. Anyone that might have more specific questions just PM or email me and I'll pull out the issue and look at it. I could pass on membership dues (or none), volume and exchange fees without violating any copyright issues.
