Has anyone stayed at any RCI resorts, namely ski resorts in the Northeast or Canada? I have been looking in to them and nothing ever seems available, yes we can go on the wait lists but I hate not knowing if I will have the points to use elsewhere and miss out on something else. Any feedback would be appreciated!

I haven't but some people have. I will tell you that your only chances of getting those resort during higher demand times is by the wait list or very short notice (under 45 days). If you want it, go on the WL.

We just stayed in VA at The Pines resort. It was beautiful. We had our own little cottage up on a mountain right on the property of Bryce Resort. It was nice, although we weren't guests of the resort we still had use of the amenities if we wish for a small fee. The Pines doesn't have a website and the picture on RCI's website doesn't do it justice. There were several cottages owned by The Pines.

my home resort is in the poconos and we used to go alot in the 90's havent step foot there since. very beautiful but too close to home for a vacation in my mind

If you are looking at Intrawest at Blue Mountain or Mont Tremblant, you have a decent chance of finding someone for a trade. The WDW properties have big appeal for timeshare owners there, since it's an easy flight south. The only problem is that they also have access to Sandestin, so that might dilute the pool a bit. Tremblant would be the better choice for quality of skiing, though.
