RCI and reservation number

Okay so Feb 28th we switched our RCI week for a week (AUG 28- SEPT 4) at the BWV (2BR). We want to set up the DDP so that come May when our window to make ADRs is available, we can do so. The only problem is we need some number, like a confirmation reservation number that begins with a 3 or something to call the DVC and purchase the DDP. We have not gotten this number yet and were wondering when we can get it. We called RCI a few weeks ago and FINALLY after being tossed around from calling RCI to being told to call DVC back and forth we were told that we would be getting this number soon and that they were getting other trips ready for this currently that were coming up.

Now, I'm kinda getting frustrated because I still haven't gotten this number and May will be here soon. I don't want to get the number a month before the vaca like they originally tried saying we were going to because by then I will most likely not get the ADRs I want.

Anyone else having this problem?

I'd go ahead and make the ADR's once within 90 days - telling them you are on the DDP - and add the DDP once you receive the confirmation letter for your exchange. Your ADR window opens at the end of May.

With II you got the DVC conf # on the printed confirmation. RCI doesn't get it. What you have to do is call DVC MS and give them the info for the exchange. They look it up by name. They can tell you the view type and DVC 12 digit reservation #. You can add the DDP if you want but don't have to do so to make the dining reservations. Then you can call at 90 days out and make up to 10 days of dining reservations.

When you call, go through the prompts for Exchanges/world passport. They can help you and will give you exactly what you need. I'd wait on adding the DDP in case something changes but it's also reasonable to add it while on the phone with them.

You can make ADRs without a reservation number or being on the dining plan. Anyone can make an ADR. You don't even have to be staying on site.

True, but to use the 90+10 option, you will need a reservation number. You can also make the reservations without the DDP and add the plan later, you just need to make sure your options are included.

Whether or not you are on DDP is not relevant at the reservation booking stage, unless you want to book CRT or a dinner show (these are prepaid at booking unless you are on the plan). And I believe all you have to do to get only a credit card guarantee for these is to tell them that you are on the dining plan, or plan to acquire the dining plan.

When you do get DDP added, you do not have to call Disney Dining back after you make reservations and say you are now on the dining plan.

You're going during the free dining period, so it would probably be advantageous to you to get the number so you can book 90 + 10.
