RBC Debit Card Usage

Has anyone recently used their RBC debit card at ATMs in Orlando? How does that all work?

Do you get dinged higher fees or is it the same/better than carrying around wads of US cash...

I had used mine in Miami at the end of our trip. I had run out of American cash and needed a little extra.

I believe I didn't get hit with higher fees for using the ATM. The exchange rate was almost the same as when I exchange my savings for American cash. I did get charged a fee of 3.50 for using and ATM that was not affiliated with RBC. But I got that back at a later date, as that's part of my banking package I have with them. I also did not take out a huge amount of cash, as I just needed some extra cash for the cab ride in the morning, and to buy a couple of take away meals for the daughter and myself for the trip home.

I can report pretty much the same as Pumpkin. I used mine at Universal last week. It was the same exchange rate. I did get charged an extra $5 by the bank machine in the lobby of Cabana Bay, and a fee by RBC for using a non RBC machine. But I got the second fee back as part of my banking agreement. I took out $250 and all told it cost about $325
