We just found out that our flight to Hawaii was cancelled and we had to postpone our Aulani trip by one day. We have insurance but I am not sure how we would submit a claim to RBC for our points for the one night we won't be there. (our points went into holding and need to be used by the end of our use year which is March 1 which won't happen).
Insurance was great opening the claim but I am not sure how we can submit a claim for the one night of points we have lost.
I went on line and one night in the room we booked worked out to $584.00 per night so would hate to lose this amount.
Not sure if I should post this on Canadian site or DVC
Any suggestions?:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3

Not sure if you've gone to the DVC forums with this yet, but I know from similar past posts that if you purchase travel insurance through DVC and have an allowable claim, all you are reimbursed for is the per point cost for the points lost (i.e. the $5-6 dollars per point you paid in membership fees/taxes last year).

Sorry - can't tell you if RBC would cover your points in the same manner.

Thanks, we are going to ask DVC to change one night in a one bedroom ocean view to a 2 bedroom ocean view to try and use up the points. Not sure how successful a claim would be anyway.

We booked a flight from Toronto to Vancouver to Hawaii. Our flight from Vancouver was changed to the next day and the airline was going to make us fly to Vancouver, stay for the night then fly to Hawaii. With an angry phone call they changed our flights - flying from Toronto to LA then on a United flight to Hawaii on the date we had originally scheduled. They will not automatically offer you an option on another airline.
