I just got a Canon Rebel XSI - I would like to take some photos in RAW, but I have no idea how to post-process them. I have not installed whatever cd came with the camera - I have no idea if it has a program with it anyway.
I have heard talk of Lightroom - but I don't have it. I do have Paint Shop Pro XI - I have no idea if it can do RAW?? Does anyone know?
I am nervous about taking the leap! Help!
I use "Instant jpeg from RAW". You can download it here: http://www.rawworkflow.com/instant-jpeg-from-raw-utility/
It's incredibly simple and fast. It converts a whole folder of RAW files in a matter of seconds, just by right clicking on the folder and choosing a menu item - no software to open. You can even have them sized to whatever size you want.
I've been using it for 7 months and have had no issues at all.
Don't know what is going on but, all I get when the download file is
extracted is a .30mb .dll file, no program and Spybot Search & Destroy
classified it as malware. Did the registration and got an email back with a download location. What is going on??
I don't think it's software really. I heard about it on Scott Kelby's blog. Here's a link to that entry. It gives a really detailed explanation of it. Sorry, I didn't have any trouble installing it at all.
Ok, so I'm hoping that I'm not wishing for something that's not out there but does anyone know of an easy way to view RAW files?Right now the only two things I have are Windows and Photoshop Elements 5.0. I am cataloging my photos to backup on my website for the first time and learned that I have over 13,000 pictures!!
I know that's not a lot for most of you, but to see that in numbers blows me away. Now a lot of them are in RAW format and I can't easily see if I have one picture already backed up or not on my external hard drive because it does not give a preview of the picture. Other than double clicking on the file and opening it in PSE, is there another way to view RAW files? Thanks!!
