My mom will be brining my family YEY :Pinkbounc to WDW
November 26 through December 5. We always rent a car when we go to Disney, regardless of where we stay.
We will be spending a few days in Sarasota prior to our trip and therefore will be flying in to Tampa (since it is about 45 minutes from where we usually stay and about an hour from WDW). I've been researching car rentals (all) along with codes, without codes, etc. from Feb/March, didn't do any in April since I was away for 3 weeks, and again this week. I can't find anything from TPA less then high $290s. Does this sound reaonsable? I remember one year getting under $200 for 10 nights. I am looking to rent an intermediate size car.
If anyone has any helpful hints, please let me know I would greatly appreciate it :) Thank you.an't find anything

Try the Dollar code KISS3 for your intermediate. This usually comes up @ $134.99 Base price. Dollar is in terminal @ the TPA airport.

Depending on how many people are going. Thrifty AU02 code brings up an economy with base of $79.00. You could get 2 economy cars if needed and there are enough drivers. Thrifty is also in terminal @ the TPA airport.

Hope this helps!

Thanks. I just printed out and will try in a few moments. We just want one car, intermediate size. I'll try and let you know. I was disappointed with my rates after seeing that everyone was getting great rates at MCO and I've never had to pay this much but also never went the day after Thansgiving either. Thanks.

It came up as $319 :(

Check Orland prices. if it's a lot cheaper, it might be worth fying into MCO and driving a little longer to go to Sarasota. Air fares might be less, too.

The price on rental cars went down a lot as it closer to my dates I bet yours will too...

I'm hoping that they will, too - we're traveling approximately the same time. However, when you need to pick up a vehicle in the middle of a popular Holiday weekend, you really can't count on getting the same rates as those who are going at off peak times. I'm not expecting much change, but I'm still hoping! :teeth:

P.S. We're getting a minivan from Dollar - KISS3 does seem to give the best rate. If you qualify for the Silver Dollar Club (believe it is for those 50 and older), the rates are very slightly better and you get a second driver for no extra charge.

CarolMN, thank you. My mom will be paying for the van (she's over 50) and we can then put my husband down as the second driver. I'll look into the price. Thanks everyone.
