Rates in August

What kind of rates can I get in August? Right now things are looking pretty high and I can't get any kind of discount to come up with the APH in the promo box. Are there ever any discounts on expedia or such? I am planning on arriving on Aug 6 and staying for 2 or 3 nights depending on price. I would like to stay at HRH because I think my kids would like the slide. Also how crowded is it typically that time of year? Thanks so much.

I have RPR booked for 2 nights 8/2-8/4. My rate is $210.60 AAA rate & $211 APH rate. This does not include tax. Right now I'm keeping the AAA rate because it is basically the same as APH rate. I'm hoping that the closer it gets the rates get lower.

Discounts seem to be thin on the ground for this August.

I have a Deluxe Room at the HRH reserved for $344/night (August 1 - 5). The rate includes two free length-of-stay theme park tickets. This worked out cheaper than using the AAA or APH code and not getting the free tickets!

We have gone 3 times in August, the earliest was 8/4 and the latest was around 8/17. I would not want to be there in August without FOTL. It is hot and the waits were long. Probably not as long as June or July, but I have nothing to base those time frames on. We went this year the first week of December for 2 days and stayed at WDW. You did not need FOTL then. The Mummy and Shrek were almost walk ons. We are going back again in August and will stay on property. Just waiting for the rates to drop. In 2003 the rates dropped in May, waiting to see if this happens again, if not will pay whatever the room costs.

Just wanted to add that we got PBH for $159, HRH was $139, and RP was $129. Not expecting these rates, but would be happy with RP at $159. This is the price now for RP the last week in August with APH now.

I am a LOEWS card holder and AAA, but no matter what code I put in (including APH just to see ), I a getting the same rates for August 20-24 both on the Universal and Loews sites (they use the same reservations system).

How did you enter your codes, am I doing something wrong??

I see $237 for HRH (AAA and APH) and $234 for RPH(no discounts available) for Aug 20-24. That's not that bad.

If you go a week later, the rates drop substantially.
