I'm holding reservations at the Poly for 6 nights. However, I'd really just like to use it for the last two nights (Friday and Saturday).

When I tried to book just the two, the rates were really high. When I booked the six, the rates for each day came down considerably.

Since I want to stay at Swan/Dolphin for the first four nights, what would happen to the Poly room rates if I cancel the first four nights?

I'm afraid to call until I hear some opinions.

Thanks.:wave2:

Weekend rates are always higher than weekday rates. If you are just trying to book for Friday and Saturday as you stated, then you are getting weekend rates. HTH. :goodvibes

Part of it, is your rates are always higher on the weekend days compared to weekdays. Keeping it on Friday and Saturday are the most expensive days of the week. When you average in weekday rates for the other 4 days, it is going to be on average a lot lower per night

OK, I might have misrepresented this. So I'll try again..:confused3

I know the weekend rates at WDW are always higher than a Sun-thur rate.
The problem I am facing is that the Friday to Saturday rate changes say from
$374 a night during a two day booking to something like $332 a night when it is attached to a 6 day booking.

For example:

Date Rate per Night
Mon, Oct $ 304.50
Tue, Oct $ 304.50
Wed, Oct $ 304.50
Thu, Nov $ 304.50
Fri, Nov $ 332.50
Sat, Nov $ 332.50

And when I just do two nights

Fri, Nov $ 374.00
Sat, Nov $ 374.00

Is your current ressie booked with a discount, and you are getting quote for rack rate??

Yes, they were with the discounted rate. In the last few minutes that 374 disappeared on the standard room. Wow, things change in a heartbeat...
and the next thing up is lagoon view at 399.

I am by no means an expert on this stuff but...

Can't you just call reservations and have the first four nights taken off your existing reservation? Then you should be able to keep the price you currently have on those nights. I should think you can do that. I don't see why you would have to cancel that reservation and book a new one... just modify what you have but do it with a Disney reservationist.

I hope I'm right on that if that helps.

Well, no matter what, I'm keeping everything status quo until I find out what's going on with the Dolphin pool. I have ressies there also.:woohoo:

Book the entire week at the lower prices, if still available. Once that's done, call on the next day to cancel the days you do not want. This may or may not work (depending on restrictions if booked with a code) and you will need to pay the difference for the one night since it will increase from $304 to $332, if it's still at that price.
