I was trying to explain to someone about how happy we were as DVC memebers. They heard "time share" and started to shutter. They asked how happy we were and I said we were. I think a poll maybe a better measure.

How happy are you with DVC eperience.

A few weeks ago I came home with a 'great deal' on an item -- dh guessed the price at well over $200 but I had only paid $19. Out of curiousity I asked him what he thought was our biggest 'bargain' over the years. I was thinking along the lines of the wicker trunk we found in Freeport, Maine -- or the cool planters I got at Christmas Tree Shops. Without hesitation he answered 'DVC'.
And since it was my idea to join - I'm taking full credit. :)

I try to avoid using the "T-word" when telling people about DVC. Since we don't technically "own" anything, it seems to me it's more of a pre-paid vacation plan. "Vacation Club" appears to be the best descriptor I can think of. If you call it that, you should avoid the shudders and the condescending looks from people who think THEY would never be dumb enough to get snookered into buying a timeshare.

I voted "very happy". I would never, ever buy a timeshare other than DVC (or one of equal reputation). I know that DVC technically is a timeshare, but I don't see it that way. I too see it as pre-paid luxury Disney resort accommodations.

Good luck...

This was easy... DW and I often say that DVC is "one of the best things we've ever done." A direct hit!

I voted very happy, but we enjoy staying at the other resorts as well.

A few months ago we had a similar poll. On that poll there were two or three people who voted "not happy" (or worse), but they never responded in the thread. Several of us commented that it was strange not to respond why they were not satisfied.
I am wondering if we will get the same here...

We could not be happier . . . unless I was able to add on more points!! LOL! This was a great decision we wish we made earlier than last year. Annmarie

Maistre G...unfortunately, anyone who posts a negative about DVC in general seems to get flamed on this board. If someone said that they thought DVC was less than they had hoped, we'd get comments like "Why don't you just sell your points if you're so unhappy".

So I could see why someone would just vote and leave it at that.

That said, we've been completely happy with DVC and have no regrets whatsoever! :)

I too would be interested in knowing WHY someone is not happy. Perhaps it was not what they envisioned, or perhaps they don't know how to use it to best advantage. I would think some here could help, and we could always throw out a flame retardant to insulate the poster.

I/We could not be happier. We enjoy all the phases of our WDW vacations including the planning and driving there. We now get to do it 2 or 3 times a year and aren't depressed when we go home because we know we'll be back in less than a year.

Two weeks a year in the happiest place on earth with my family. Priceless!

Yes, I do see your point. However, I find it a bit strange that someone who is very unhappy with DVC is hanging around the DVC board.
Anyway, I would very much like to hear what some dislike about DVC.

We have only used our DVC points once. We bought in 2002 and added on in 2003.

We had 17 magical nights at BCV, VB and BWV in June. We cannot wait for the trips to come:D

We said it was the best thing we ever did. We could kick ourselves for not doing it sooner. We first investigated DVC in 1995, and it took us till 2002 to decide to do it. We realize we wasted alot of time and money waiting so long. Now we want to buy more points, but need the points available to do it. That's okay, we'll wait, and in the meantime, we'll enjoy the points we have.

DVC has sure been the best thing we ever did! We love it, and we have a daughter, neice, and brother all in DVC too! My brother and his wife are not too happy with DVC, though. They go for peace and quiet, and they hate all the poorly behaved kids who are there, and their ineffectual parents. Now why they would ever consider DVC in the first place has always been a mystery to me, but my brother wanted the best, so he bought DVC. The only place he really loves is OKW, so he has found a niche there, and in January you don't see many kids, so it has worked out for the best. ;)
