Gearing up for a 3 resort stay, I'd love to hear people's favorite pools.

State the following:
1) the makeup of your group --- ages, genders, etc.
2) DVC resorts you have stayed in (so we know which were in contention)
3) your ranking

Me, DH, DS11, and DD9

Stayed at OKW and THV last October (first DVC stay)

1. OKW pool (more because of the pool activities than the actual pool)
2. Paddock pool at SSR
3. High Rock Springs pool at SSR (nice pool but chilly)
4. THV pool

Going to Aulani this October, so I'm guessing that will move into first place ;)

Me, DH, DS (now 17, but we've been DVC members for a long time, so he's been experiencing DVC pools since he was about six)

BWV (home resort), BCV, VWL, AKL, OKW, SSR

Pool Favs

BCV (Not even close)
BWV (Great slide; good activities for the kids; make sure you're not afraid of clowns. LOL)
VWL (slide is not good, but the surroundings are great)

Love this. Me. I don't have to list my age, do I? ;) Handstand room and slide runs are big components of my ranking.

SSR, BLT, VWL, AKV - both, BWV, BCV, OKW, HHI, VB

1) BCV - although I dislike the "Hi, how was your Epcot dinner?" walk to the slide. ;)

2) VB - love the slide

3) VWL - love how this pool is so intimate and takes you away

4) BWV

5) AKV - Jambo - same as #3 but kids would love the water play at Kidani/great bar area - just not ranking it because I don't like location of the pool area

Have a great trip.

Just me and my wife

#1 CR We use thus pool while at BLT. LOVE THE VIEW, marina, bar and food offerings.

Different reports for different groups:

DW and I:
AKL/V, BCV, SSR, BWV, OKW

Family groupings can include teens or infant
SSR with Infant #1
BCV with teen #1
AKL/V, SSR, BWV, BCV with all Adults

1) the makeup of your group --- ages, genders, etc.

Two adults, two middle school aged sons

2) DVC resorts you have stayed in (so we know which were in contention)

BLT, BWV, SSR, VWL, AKL

3) your ranking

My rankings: BWV, SSR, VWL, AKL

We didn't use the BLT pool, so I can't comment. Of the others, Boardwalk is our favorite. It isn't the nicest, but it has a great vibe to it during the day. SSR has a very nice main pool, but the vibe isn't the same. It was similar at VWL. I can't really comment on AKL since we only swam there at night.

I am looking forward to trying BCV this summer. We illegally pool hopped there years ago when our friends were staying there. Actually, maybe it wasn't illegal since we were visiting friends (not sure). It was nice, but we felt it was too spread out with too many places where we couldn't see our kids, who were young at the time.

I am more about the overall atmosphere (the energy) around the pool than the actual looks of it. SSR is a nicer pool than BWV, but BWV seems way more fun. Time and time again, we have had a better afternoon there.

1) Travel party is myself and both a teenage boy and girl

2) We've stayed at AKV, BLT, BWV, VWL, BCV, SSR, OKW, VGC, and Vero

3) Favorite pools are BCV and BLT

SAB at the BC is just an amazing complex. I enjoy the boats on Crescent Lake and the surrey bikes while snacking at Hurricane Hanna's. We also love the sand bottom and the hot tub areas.

At BLT we love the setting with Bay Lake in the background. The slide is great and the whole area just has a nice feel to it.

Although we've stayed at AKV and OKW we have not used the pools at either resort.

1) Me, DH, our girl/boy twins (All of our DVC trips so far have occurred when they were 6 and 7)

2) BLT, SSR, VB, AKV-Jambo

3) BLT was the best. Easy to get to from the room, fun slide. I had thought that the water play area would be boring, as it is just water shooting up in little fountains from the ground. I was totally wrong. My kids LOVED this.

VB Another fun slide, and we had lunch from the CS window. My kids were too tall for the pirate water play area, but having the ocean next door made up for that. :thumbsup2

AKV-Jambo The pool area is HUGE. Took forever to get there from our room. Since the pool serves both the lodge and DVC guests, it always seemed busy and crowded. We had a pool view room, and it was too noisy late at night. We are definitely springing for a savanna view next time.

SSR Grandstand and the main pool. Both were nice, but both of our SSR trips were in December, so we didn't always have good swimming weather.
