I made ressie at Dollar, with a base rate at $105 per week for a compact car. It's even printed on my confirmation email. Now I viewed my reservation on their web page, and was shocked that it's bumped up to $149 per week! That's for the same compact car category. Even with no code, the regular quote was $113 per week.

What's going on? Can they not honor my confirmed rate?

Take your confirmation with you and that should be the rate charged. When you go to a site like that and put in your reservation again and ask it to give rate, it will give you the latest rate being charged to all as of the day you ask for the information so you can decide whether you want to change your reservation (if the rate is lower).

Save the e-mail with the original confirmation. Better yet, print it.

Then write back (e-mail back) to the company right away asking about the situation.

Bring paper copies of all correspondence with you. Generally I do not recommend doing business on line unless you know how to print things out.

You may want to see if the original quote incl. taxes, charges, etc. It is possible the larger amount does include those items, while the original quote does not. This frequently happens.
