Hi -
I'm just trying to do some planning for 2006. I see that you can now check 2006 package rates online at disneyworld.com. I'm not sure of the dates yet but we've gone in April the last 2 years so I thought I'd check pricing for that period again. I was checking the package price at CBR for April 20 to April 27. This period straddles the peak/regular season (last day for peak season in April 22). It appears on disneyworld.com that you pay the peak rate for the entire length of stay instead of dropping to the regular rate. I also checked on AAA.com for the same dates and they also only offer the peak rate of $175/night for the entire stay instead of the $155/night regular rate. Is this correct???

HI me2me,

You would need to make two separate reservations to get the lower rate for the last few days of your stay. Consequently, if you were going FROM regular TO peak, you would get the lower (regular) rate for your entire stay if you only had one reservation. That's just kinda how Disney reservations work.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Maverick. That does help. I didn't realize it would work that way (especially the reverse arrangement!).

Just to make sure you understand, two reservations means two deposits. This is true whether it is two packages or two room only reservations.
You will also have to 'check out' of your room at the end of the first reservation and check back in for the next reservation. Although they will not guarantee that you will not have to change rooms, no one ever has to.
We did this last year, since it save quite a bit of money for us. I am not sure if I want to do it for our vacation for next April. It is one day for the cheaper rate. But I may.

*edited to answer my own question -
AP rates work like regular rates. There are value rates and regular rates. I needed to make 2 AP ressies for one trip - one night at regular AP and the other nights at value AP.*

Hi, Do AP rates work this way also? Let's say I want to book one week room only using an AP rate. My first vacation day is Regular season and the rest of my week is Value season. Would I still do the two separate reservations in order to get the AP value rate for the remaining 6 days or is an AP rate an AP rate no matter what time of year on Disney's whims? So my question is, when trying to book one week room only with AP rates with the first day/regular season and the next 6 days/value season, would you advise me to make two separate reservations in order to get a lower value rate on the last 6 days (and I understand I pay two deposits)... Or is it more luck of the draw with these AP rates? Does anyone know the answer? I hope this makes sense.

Thanks a bunch, Tink
