My family will be staying at a Disney Resort 12/31/03-1/04/04. 12/31/03 is holiday rate and then the rate drops 1/01/04-1/04/04 however I wasn't quoted this when I called. They said to get the lower value rate I have to check out and then check back in. Has anyone ever come across this and what is best way to handle it?
Thanks.

We stayed the very last week of value season in Feb. Have of our stay was value the other half was regular or peak (can't remember) anyway...I was told that since my stay started in value season I would get value season rates for all nights. My feeling is that unless you do, check out then check back in, if you are in peak season on the first night, the other nights will also be in peak seaon. I would call back to CRO and ask them how to handle this so you can take advantage of the lower price.

In order to get the lower rate you will have to make two separate reservations. One will be for the higher rate ... and the other beginning on the day of value season for the lower rate. You will need to make two separate deposits ... and you ***may*** be required to change rooms (though we never had to). You can ask that the two reservations be linked ... meaning that the room assigner sees you are checking out and in on the same day -- which lessens your chance of having to change rooms mid-trip. I would also mentioned the two reservations again at check in.

We were not going to go until 10/3 but I realized that the last day of value season was 10/1 so I rebooked now we have 2 more days in WDW and value season rate for the whole trip. We did have this problem last year we wanted to check in 10/31 and it was the last day of regular season so we just bumped back a day. we were offered to make 2 ressies but didn't want to so we checked in 11/2.

Our reservation for 10/31-11/6 is during a rate change. The first two nights are regular season, last four value season. We had to make two separate reservations.

We are hoping we do not have to change, since their are eight of us in connectiong rooms at ASMo.

We are linking the reservations together, so I will keep my fingers crossed on staying put.
