Rate ? about AKL

We are going to the World for 2 weeks next year. We stay at our vacation house, but I am going to surprise family with the last 2 nights at AKL. Since we have only stayed at values and moderates on postcard codes, what type of price am I looking at for AKL? I know I do want a savannah view- I hope I don't have to pay $300 a night!! We don't have an AP or AAA- I could join AAA if that means getting a better rate. We will be there Aug 1 and 2 of 2004- are there any special rates to be on the lookout for that time of year?? Were there any good rates this year??

We used the FTP this summer so we got a really good rate at AKL. The AP rate through Aug 23 is 190.00 for savannah view. However, so far there are no AP rates after that. Nothing is guaranteed. A lot of people book the AAA rate but I am not sure what percentage off it is, maybe 20%? We book a room we can live with and then just keep looking for the discounts. I wouldn't expect discounts but when they come along, take advantage of them. I usually use Magical Journeys travel agency. They are great and look out for the discounts for you. Good luck!
